What do you know about Lush?

My friend raves about their hair, body and face products. It seems like they have all natural, EF products. Anyone use this and/or know about these products? It seems like many times products are not as EF as they try to make themselves out to be, so I am always a skeptic.

  • I have tried some of their products and I really like them. They say they are "handmade," so I would guess that would limit what is in them, but I admit I've never read the labels. You could probably read the ingredients lists online. I know you can also read reviews for all of the products on their site as well.

  • I've looked at the ingredients online. They say they use natural ingredients and minimal preservatives. It doesn't say anything about their products being biodegradeable or anything so I thought that was kinda odd but IDK.

  • I love LUSH.  They have great products.  Check out their website; it goes into detail as to what exactly is in each product.  My favorite is the honey soap.

  • I try to like it, but walking into the store gives me a headache. I don't know how anyone can work there. I've read the ingredients, and I wasn't impressed. Lots of SLS.
  • Some things are okay, but there are very heavy with unnatural perfumes and have some not so natural ingredients in their products. Many of their products have parabens, SLS, etc. Which is (IMO) far from natural.

this. A friend recommended it to me, but every single product they had in the store I went to contained SLS or SMS. Not necessarily a deal breaker for me but since by making my own I don't have to worry about those things, I'm not about to spend more money to have them back in my products again.

  • I use their stuff in moderation because of the SLS's. The only thing I will buy is the bath bombs and even that is rare because there are no stores near me.

    totally agree

I think its just a gimmick. Say its natural and great, charge a hefty price and put it in snazzy packaging, tada big profit.

This is the feeling I got from reading their website. But I'm not super great at this whole green thing yet so I am not always sure what is ok and what's not. As usual, thanks for the input ladies.

  • I'm a sucker for the Good Karma lotion, and their (overpriced) bath bombs; wasn't impressed with the shampoo, and went back to Aveda.
