So I seriously just need to vent about this, I think once I am done I can just get over it and be done with it. So yesterday was the Policeman's ball that I mentioned on Friday, it was a lot of fun and there were so many people in cute 50's outfits! My dress worked well and we had a fun night for the most part...
A little back story, DH has some people at work who he hangs out with more, or just gets along with better, They have become our group of friends so often all of us couples go out together. DH and I are the newest married and the only ones who don't have/are expecting a baby. We are all also around the same age, within a few years so we all get along really great. We haven't all been friends too long maybe 6 months.
So we get to the policeman's ball and we are all sharing a table and the night is going really well, they had an open bar so all of the wife's were DD's and the guys drank ( since it was their work event...we usually switch off who are the DD's) My DH decided early on he wasn't going to drink too much since it was a work event, and some of the other guys were definitly feeling it, and were at the funny drunk stage. Anyway so close to the end of the night one of DH friends is really feeling it and is spilling his drink down the front of himself everytime he talks, so I tell his wife who is standing next to me (purly in an effort to get him to stop spilling all over himself in front of everyone so he didn't really spill and soak his shirt in beer.) Anyway so she, knowing he is getting pretty drunk goes over and says something (I'm not sure what) and takes his beer away from him. Well I guess she told him I was the one who noticed he was spilling because then he comes over to me and says Thanks a lot! And then preceeds to make a big scence about how I must be the boss of everyone because I get to decide when he needs to stop drinking ( in a completely non joking mannor and you could tell he was a little pissed)..and so forth. Well I know he is drunk but come on, I really didn't mean for her to take the drink away, I could really care less how much or when he stops drinking I was just trying to make sure he didn't get all wet, I really thought she would just tell him what he was doing so he could try to stop. In the middle of his big speach his wife even said, She was just looking out for you, calm down" Anyway I was a little embarassed that this happened in front of a big group of DH work friends, and he even got his beer back. So at that point I was ready to go, we had planned to go to an after party but I wasn't really feelin it. Oh and DH missed the whole thing, he wasn't drunk but he was feeling it and he had been talking to someone else and completely missed the whole thing despite coming in toward the end of the speech and being completely clueless as to what was going on...So I tell him I'm ready and I don't want to go out afterward and he is completley lost on the whole thing but can tell I am upset so we leave shortly after and I tell him what happened, that I'm not mad at his friend or anything just a little upset about the whole thing and thought it was out of line ( but I know he was drunk and I just didn't want to be around him anymore) Oh and after this whole speech, DH friend didn't talk to me again for the next 20 min that we were there and barley said goodbye to me. So My H apologizs to me for his friend says he can see how I would be embarassed and we go home.
So today I am over the whole thing but I just have to wonder what he (Dh's friend) thought this morning when he woke up, if he even remembers the whole thing or if his wife let him know what happened...I hope this doesn't effect out friendship with them because I know DH really likes this guy and he is one of his closest friends at work...
So what do you ladies think did I over react??

Nothing much to add here. Trust me, this guy is definitely feeling embarrassed and wants the whole thing to go away. You have nothing to feel silly about....just don't mention it and I guarantee he won't either
Every single couple in my group of friends (us included) has done something really ridiculous when drunk... we either laugh about it or never mention it again, and it won't effect your friendship if it's really a good one!
