I'm here! No baby for me yet, though I have certainly dropped and feel like the head gets lower, and loooower, and looooooooower with each step, lol.
I have quite a few phone numbers so I imagine I'll just send out a text when it's going down and then again after Pickle is here w. the name and a picture. John thinks we should tell our family when I go into labor but I definately have VERY different feelings about that . . . we'll see what I end up feeling like doing.
And she's CUUUUUTE! And I love her name!
I bet her FUPA's name is Shane, like the gunslinger/drifter of literature.--HappyTummy
eeep! that's great! can you link the blog (I can't remember if she included it in her siggy or not . . . )

LOVE the name! Does Heather ever come around anymore?

Awww, what a sweet face! Love the name as well.
Tasty, you have too many family members to let them know when you go into labor. By the time you finish notifying them all, Pickle will have been born and you'll be checking out of the hospital.

Plus, if your family is like our families, they will be texting for information. During the first two hours or so, Zane was keeping the moms in the waiting room updated. Then, things got crazy intense and fast, so no more updates. They were sending frantic "What's going on?" texts and "Why aren't you answering?". Uhhh, we're kind of busy here. We'll get back to you in a few minutes. Geez.
that is EXACTLY why I don't want to let the families know during the labor but call them right after the birth. I don't want frantic calls/texts or visits during the labor portion. I don't want to feel like I"m on a "clock" to let people know what's going on. I just want to go into labor for as long as is needed and then call with the good news.
You have just totally helped me to make up my mind, Buddha. thanks!
Through somewhat of a coincidence (I was 5 days late, so our OOT sibs were there for the birth, instead of after), we actually had quite a few people at the hospital. I was in labor for 22 hours before ending up with a c-section. It was mostly fine, but I felt bad like they must be bored and wanted to "produce" the baby for them. It was kind of dumb.
Overally, it was nice to have them there though, I don't think I would change that. But our families are mostly normal/not too annoying, except for my dad, who wasn't there.
Glad I could be of service.
Hi all--
Thanks for your nice comments about Nora and her name. We're home and trying to adjust to life with a newborn.
I'm not around hardly ever anymore--when I started my new job in the spring it cut back on my nesting time and I was having a lot of trouble keeping up with the activity over here. I would've been that person who is adding nothing to a thread hours after the conversation is over, you know? (Kind of like... right now, haha).
Anyway, I just wanted to pop in and say thank you. Tasty, I hope Pickle is born soon! I'll have to try to check in over here to find out whether it's a boy or a girl (and the name, of course!). And, FWIW, we didn't have time to have anyone at the hospital since everything went so fast and it was the middle of the night--it was pretty nice that way. My mom was the only one who was there, and my in-laws came up shortly afterward (like 5-6 a.m.). Everyone else stayed away until the afternoon, which was great because we had some quiet time before the rush of visitors.
