Hi!  I just finished reading Water for Elephants, and I loved it!  You posted a comment on GoodReads saying you had a theory about it???  Do tell!!

Re: paging georgeanne *ncsu4ganne*

  • A woman at an independant book store that I frequent when I'm @ the beach said that her theory was that the main character died in the nursing home & went to his idea of heaven which was the circus. His spririt went out the door & down the road to the circus grounds. I thought this was a great theroy b/c the end of the book didn't seem to flow as well as the rest & seemed far-fetched that an old man would just take up with a travling circus that was in town & that the guy with that circus would be ok with this elderly man tagging along. Just a thought but it really sounded good to me. Ihope you enjoyed the book. :)

  • oh wow!! that's interesting!!!  o please, that chapter where his family forgets about him and he misses the circus literally broke my heart.  that does make a lot of sense though, because it definitely ended like a "tall tale"

i did really enjoy the book - it was captivating and just a really good story.  i loved loved loved jacob's character and i loved how you got a glimpse into his young life and old life.

  • Have you read The Help or Little Bee? I've recently finished both & even though they were very different I loved each. Also, The Space Between Us by Thirty Unger (not sure of the lest name) was very goo too. I'm trying to get through The Known World right now but just don't seem to have the time that I need to devote to it. What els have you read that you truely enjoyed?
