Re: Bona Floor System?
IMO, it gets a
.
The woman we bought our house off of used the Bona system and it left a buildup of gunk on the floors. One good cleaning with soap and water and our floors are like new again.

We had our wood floors installed this summer, and he recommended the Bona wood floor cleaner.
And, we've been using ever since. It seems to clean really well, and I love the shine. I'm thinking of purchasing the tile cleaner.
I was thinking of getting the Bona System. But since you just mentioned the gunk build up, I'm not so sure. What kind of soap did you use to clean the floors? Did you use a regular mop or a terry cloth mop?
I purchased it last night from BB&B so I'll let you know how it turns out when I use it.
I have already been thru the swiffer and orange glo and have so many bad things about build-up with the orange glo. I keep hearing good things about Bona on other boards.

I just used hot water and some dishsoap (I think it was the greenworks dishsoap) and hand scrubbed them with microfiber cloths. The buildup wasn't as bad as OrangeGlo buildup, but they were definitely a few shades darker than the leftover pieces from when they had the floors installed. When I was done cleaning the floors I put a few of the extra pieces down on top of the floor and the color matched.
Now that they're all cleaned up, I just use hot water and a microfiber mop. The hot water removes dirt and disinfects at the same time. I just put the hot water in a spray bottle and spray a little at a time and move around the room. The microfiber absorbs all of the dirt and water so there isn't any puddling. Best part is... absolutely nothing is left on the floor when I'm done so I don't have worry about what my weirdo cat is going to lick off the floor and if it's going to cause a trip to the vet.

Hmmm just plain hot water? I may have to try that. It just sounds too simple. I've always felt that if i didn't use a "cleaner" that my floors wouldn't be clean. But I guess the hot water would disinfect them right? Thanks!
I just got the Bona cleaner and have used it once. I like it alright. I read online that water is the devil on hardwood floors. Our floors are really dark wood and I hate them b/c they show every paw print.
I want to try the Bona polish but I need to get the animals to the kennel or something. They flock to me whenever I clean the floor.
