I'm getting the feeling...
that quite a few of us have an issue making/finding "older" friends. After reading the Monday vents post, it sounds like I'm not the only one. I hate to admit this, but thank goodness someone spoke up b/c I was beginning to feel like I was the only one.
Maybe we can use this as a jumping off point for a meet up or something??
Re: I'm getting the feeling...
Katie aka Karma was just telling me that she & a few of the older nesties were talking about how we should have an "old lady" GTG (her words, not mine!). IMO it sounds like a great idea!
That is a funny way to put it, but I am all in...
I know us gals will get to gether no problem, but I worry about my DH and him not having any friends to hang out with. He doesn't make new friends easily so it is best for us if we have "couple friends" that we both can hang out with.

I'd be game! Can we count 27 as old?
If it helps...my husband has the same issue with finding friends. He has a lot acquaintances because of the military, but they usually don't "get" my husband. So then he's usually left with either being left out or treated like a 3rd wheel.
My H is the same way about liking to have "couple" friends as well. I have no doubt us ladies will get along great, but I also want to throw my two cents in that if we could incorporate our H's into the mix, I think that would be awesome.
I'm all for us ladies having our own GTG but maybe we could do something where we could ALL get together, too?? We could always have us old biddies get together and plan something for the couple's too. How does everyone feel about that?..
I'm kind of late on this one...I'm busy with work and school and don't get on here as often as I should.
However, we are totally one of those "old" couples. Even though we are 26 we LOVE to play the "geeky" board games. We just recently bought power grid and love to play it. We also play Settlers of Catan and Ticket To Ride if any of you know those games.
I think it'd be so much fun to have a day where we all (including husbands/boyfriends) get together and play these "grown-up" games. We've done this before and it's a good time and way to get to know others while being entertained by the game.
Let me know and we'll be in!
I'm 26 and feel "old" too. Especially when my 17 year old sister reminds me that I'm "so old". We're kinda geeky too...w00t engineers! I've never played Settlers but my brother (also studying engineering lol) has it and I have a friend (yet another engineer!) that loves it and keeps getting me to try and play it.

tim and I are all about board games. We did Apples to Apples at least once a month with our old group of friends in TN. we also have some versions of trivial pursuit (millenium edition) and scene it (tv edition).
We also play dominos (mexican train) and Hand and Foot (card game - similar to canasta)
ETA: I guess that makes me a geek since I am an engineer as well.

Love Apples to Apples! We enjoy it when it starts getting random, it makes for some good laughs if it's played with the right people.
My husband is a geek too (physicist) and loves playing a game called Munchkin. I haven't played it, but my husband loves it.
ETA: My husband just pointed out that he's been trying to get me into play Settlers of Catan.
We've got Balderdash (too fun!), 80's edition Trivial Pursuit, skipbo & Phase 10.
This weekend is out for us, we have FIL over & going to BIL's to celebrate DH's birthday coming up.
No worries we're the same way!
You aren't out!
