Resume/Interview Question

I have been unemployed for a few months now. However, I have been working although I don't have a PT or FT job. I have been working with 2 companies on a project-basis, meaning every now and then they ask me to do a project and pay me just for that project. Should I include this in my resume, and if so, how? What about during an interview? TIA!

Re: Resume/Interview Question

  • Yes - I'd term it as freelancing.  On a resume I'd put something like this (obviously customize for your industry) "Freelance Marketing Specialist, June 2010-present - Assisted companies such as XYZ and ABC with blah blah blah"
    Lilypie First Birthday tickers
    DS1 born June 2008 | m/c at 9w March 2011 | DS2 born April 2012
  • Ditto vanilla. Put it down as freelancing.

When interviewing, you can discuss the fact that you have kept current in your field while unemployed by freelance on a project-basis for Companies X, Y, and Z.
