So I just got a call from one of the Sat. volunteers that I've worked with the past 6yrs. He said he was told that I quit. Really? You fire me from a job that I LOVED and that I lived and breathed and you're telling everyone that I quit? Luckily he gave the side eye to that. He also said that they took down all the phone numbers they post next to the phone, and no one would give him my phone number. He finally got it from one of my former coworkers.
They keep all that up and they won't have anyone to help them with the care of the animals.
Its so hard to not be bitter and negative, but its crap like this that really get to me. I just have to believe that my true volunteer friends don't believe that.
Re: Ex-Job awesomeness
sucks. When I got fired no one really knew why and I can only imagine what my boss made up about it. It was probably something ridiculous since my letter said "unsatisfactory labels" yet another girl in the office came in late daily and called off once a week and never got a write up...
Have you filed for unemployment yet? because I would.
Hopefully they'll shape up and quit being stupid about what happened there! But yeah right, former employers never own up to what they do.
Thats annoying and I'm sorry they're telling everyone this. Hopefully your friends there won't actually believe them and they'll get the word around that you were fired and didn't quit!
and ditto the unemployment. I would so collect that!
That sucks!! I am glad that you got to speak to someone directly about it to let them know the true story. I am sure it was pretty obvious to everyone that what is being said isn't the case.
What's wrong with companies lately? (Yours and Alicia's in particular...)
I'm sorry they're being so stupid about the whole thing.
BTW, on your phone interview did they ask why you left your last job, and what did you say?

Jen: They did and I told them what I understood. Something like "AWC has been through a lot of difficulties the past few years with the constant change in management and the new management and with the new management in place I didn't meet their expectations."
The day before the interview, I tried to contact the Executive Director to sorta appologize if I said anything personal to her and to ask her what I could do/did so that I can learn from it and improve. I left a message last week and haven't heard from her. There's definately something up there and I'd even venture to say some of its financial.
