The Jets sexual harassment scandal

Why does the reporter involved have to wear a boob job cleavage displaying blouse on the Today show? Nothing says take me seriously like 4 buttons undone. Sigh.

Re: The Jets sexual harassment scandal

  • She was also dressed like a whoreboat on the local news here last night. She also posted a picture of the too tight jeans she was wearing when they supposedly harrassed her on the field. She was outraged that people said they were a size too small for her. I'd argue they were more than one size too small.

  • Didn't this occur when she walked into the locker room? Couldn't they complain she walked in on their naked place?  Or maybe there is a locker room lobby of some sort that is coed that I don't understand.

It was totally unprofessional of the players to make comments, but on the other hand, I think people who dress like Hooters waitresses want people to look at them.  As a woman, when you show off cleavage, you know people are going to look.  They certainly don't have the right to touch you, but do you expect them to keep their focus on your eyes the whole time?  You can't show up to work dressed as a clown and demand people take you seriously, so I don't see why the same doesn't apply to showing off 75% of your breasts.

  • She was supposed to wait in the locker room for the quarterback for an interview; if that's the official "interview place" then teams can't discriminate and not allow female reporters in there. I think it's dumb that teams can't just make a non-naked official interview place and keep ALL reporters out of the locker room, but that's not really the issue.

I have such issues with female sports reporters. There are some that are super awesome, but a lot of the time they get lumped in with the women who have been hired to be eye candy and to stick their chests out and make pouty cute faces while interviewing players. And if male sports reporters generally wear a suit or slacks to work, I think female reporters should wear something similar - not too tight jeans and revealing tops. But I also find it hard to believe that this woman is SO HOT that the players just couldn't fuccking control themselves and keep their mouths shut for the time she was waiting for the QB. I think this is a situation where everyone is stupid.

  • I just can't help but think - they're professional football players.  These guys are raised to believe they are amazing specimens of human awesomeness.  The grand majority of them probably don't mature beyond a 12 year old's mentality.  This whole situation does not shock me in the least.  I am probably being sexist here (and as a side note, I haven't seen what she was wearing), but she is working in the most testosterone induced enviroment imaginable.  She probably spent a nice chunk of change on those boobs that she is so excited to show off (again, I have not seen her - sweeping generalization here).  But seriously, cover them up.

  • I know absolutely nothing about this story because I just don't care, but I agree with Noisy -- there is zero reason any reporters should be in the locker room.  Let the dudes dress in peace.

  • I agree everyone was dumb.

I also haven't read the actual comments made.  If it was something cheesey and harmless like, Oooh, an angel just fell from heaven, that's one thing.  But if they were like, Look at that ass, I'd like to bend her over and ride her like a Harley, that's quite a bit worse.  (I'm sure it was somewhere in the middle, but you catch my drift.)
