With some of the money that we recieved from the wedding I bought a really nice new Brother sewing machine. And it came in the mail today! I cant wait to use it. My old sewing machine I got for my high school graduation and it was HORRIBLE. I never finished a project on it because the tention was so bad and not user friendly at all!

My first project will be a beautiful quilt that I've had the material for almost three years. When I figure out how to PIP on the nest I'll post pictures!

    Hurray that's exciting!! I got a sewing machine for Christmas and I think it's a brother as well. I love my machine! (not that I've used it a ton)

    I am so jealous!!  Not that I so a lot, but I am sure I would with a good machine.

    My mother gave me money for one as a wedding present, but it has now gone in the bank to pay for earthquake repairs to my house.

    I don't sew often either, but I want to think thats just because I didnt like my machine. Well see what happens now!

    Kathiiy thats horrible about the earthquake repairs :( Hopefully you can get one sometime soon!

    congrats!


    I had a sewing machine on my registry, but no one bought it for us :(.  I have a machine, but it's my grandmother's from the 70's - it works about 50% of the time, but one of the gears is missing a tooth (or whatever they're called), and I've been told if it catches funny, it will completely ruin the machine.  It would cost me almot $400 just to get a replacement gear (they don't make the parts anymore), and if it breaks it would cost over $700 to fix everything (store quote).

     

    can't wait to see your quilt - I want to start quilting whenever I get a working machine

    Ouch, thats a spendy repair. At that price you might as well get a new one. The machine that I bought was one that I reigistered for. I tested it out yesterday and it was very easy to use. But I have a lot of cutting to do before I can really get into it.
