Grrrrr!!!

So Dan has this habit of putting his towel in has hamper and forgetting to get himself a new one before taking his next shower.  So what does he do when he is dripping wet without a towel?  Take a mine of course.  This wouldn't be a problem if he would get me a new one once he uses mine, but he never does.  So I'm left to discover that I have no towel while in the shower and I have to walk to the closet in the hall to get a new one while dripping wet.  It happened again this morning even after numerous discussions to please replace my towel if he takes it.  I think I need to hide my towel the next time I see he doesn't have one hanging up so he can learn what it's like to have to go get one.

Re: Grrrrr!!!

  • Grrr that would be so annoying! I think hiding the towel would be an idea. Or find a location in the bathroom to keep towels so you wouldn't be annoyed anymore. That way he who is probibly not going to change isn't pissing you off anymore
  • Your not the only one dealing with this! My HH will use my towel and instead of hanging it up to dry, will just throw it in the floor wet. He takes his showers in the evening when he gets home from work and I take mine in the morning when I get up. So I always wake up to find my towel in the floor and still wet. What happens when I get a new one out of the closet and hang it up when I'm done? The next morning its in the floor...

  • Katy I say in the morning just bring a towel in with you. Don't do anything with the towel he leaves on the floor let him deal with it. When he has a cold damp wet towel he may decide to change it. Also bring it up to him. Talking is important.
  • Cody has good towel ettiquette.......however...I could do without the clothes laying all over the floor in the bathroom, our bedroom, and the bedroom where his closet is. I end up washing things that don't need to be washed because I assume theyre dirty if they are on the floor.

Ditto. I just grab clothes if they are out and wash them on laundry day.

  • Matt is good about the towels... not so good about dirty socks, which I find literally everywhere throughout the house. Back of the couch, beside the coffee table, foot of the stairs, on end tables, on chairs, middle of the floor... Yuck.
  • thank god i'm not the only one!!!  Jay leaves clothes and especially socks all over our TINY house!!!  Towels I have to admit he is good with. But the clothes make me crazy!

Our linen closet is in our bathroom so its no big deal for me to grab a towel before I hop in the shower. He just recently started getting bad about this is why I haven't brought it up yet.

  • Oh ladies I feel for you! I am so spoiled not only does my Darlin Bernie not have this issue he does all of the laundry in the house! Hugs sorry you have to deal with that

My children on the other hand hide socks. yes behind their bed under blankets  I have found them stuffed in the couch! Dirty ones grrrr  its gross disgusting and I have pleaded with them conjoled them and yelled at them does no good. I told them I can't wait till they have to live with another human being that will not tolerate this. Grrrr

  • Buckeye, we are married to the same man. Jason has zero towel etiquette. and laundry etiquette. big fail.
  • I was finally able to train Jay to hang up his towel (granted it is hanging in a clump and will never dry but at least it isn't on the bed anymore).  Now the socks, yes I find them everywhere. He once left a pair on the kitchen floor. I left them there to see how long they would stay. Two weeks!!!  And I LOVE the dirty clothes all AROUND the hamper, not in it.  We talked about it and came to the understanding that if the clothes did not make it down the laundry chute, they don't get washed.  I don't have time to gather laundry from all over the house.
  • I have the opposite problem. In the close to five years I've known him, I have never found any of Dave's things on the floor. In fact, I will open the laundry basket only to find his stinky dirty gym gear FOLDED and placed gently inside. Who does that?

  • I'm glad I'm not the only one dealing with annoying little habits.  When I told him once again that it's not very nice to leave me without a towel he apologized and said he knew he should have just sucked it up and got a new towel.  He said he knew he would forget to replace mine.  I told him to listen to that thought next time and go get his own towel.
