Help finding a gift for a 2 year old girl

I am now the proud Auntie to a beautiful little girl who turns two this week. I want to get her something other than clothes but I'm not totally sure what to get her. Any ideas?

Re: Help finding a gift for a 2 year old girl

  • I need ideas for this too...I have birthday party this weekend for a 2 year old girl and I have no ideas!
  • I am evil and love to give kids toys that that make loud noises - aka toys that will drive their parents crazy Wink
  • i don't have any kids of my own but the two kids in our life (both under 2) LOVE books. they just like to play with them and look and point to things in the pictures. my niece has a couple of books that she practically never puts down.

or how about one of those puzzles with the huge pieces or coloring books (maybe with those special markers that work on special paper)?

  • I'm lovin' these ideas.

Britt-That's what H said to get her too. Something loud or with lots of sugar.

Jaimie- Your dogs are too cute!

  • Pillow Pet. Theyre the it thing right now for littler kids.

Something from the Crayola Color Wonder line. I really love them because the paint/markers only work on the special paper. The light up paintbrush one is my favorite.

Tea Party set, they have some adorable plastic ones.

New bath toys/stuff like bathtub crayons & foam soaps.

My daughters 4, but my son is 2 & he loves all of those things.

  • Thanks for the ideas ladies! I am headed to Target this afternoon!
  • When my niece turned two, I made her a book basket.  I got all kinds of picture books and little stuffed animals.  We also got her a Disney Princess portable dvd player.  Surprisingly, he loved the book basket the most.
  • Ok...Being a teacher I love the book basket idea! That will be it!
  • isu- being a teacher myself, I'm also a big fan of books as gifts. I love elpa's idea of the book basket!

  • I always make sure to give books as a part of gifts!

  • Totally a book for the wrong age group, more of a pre-school book, but I love the book "The Kissing Hand". I love it. It's about a raccoon who doesn't want to go to school because he doesn't want to leave his mom, but then she gives him a kiss on the palm of his hand and tells him that if he ever gets lonely to just remember the warmth of her kiss and her love. A little cheesy but it's so cute. Check it out if you haven't.
  • I love the If You Give A Mouse A Cookie series.  It is fun and all the kids I have ever read it to absolutely love it.  You can never go wrong with books by Eric Carle.

This x100000.  BOTH of these kids love that stuff.  And there's NO MESS!!  LOL.  I don't think we even own regular markers, only Color Wonder.  And they make SO much different stuff now.  Hell, I myself like to use that awesome stuff.
