Thank goodness he's out of there!

We are so glad we decided to take Gio out from his current DCP. DH went there yesterday, he was asleep on the couch. she was sitting on the couch but I did mention 3 weeks ago that Gio rolled off our couch and we no longer allow him to nap on the couch because of this. (yeah flame me, i let my baby roll off the couch!) Also the past few times i have packed extra bibs and clothes yet he comes home wet...i know my kid is a drooler/spitter, thats why i pack the extra stuff!

Today dh went to pick him up and she wasn't even holding him to feed him.. she had him laying on his back which i have told her previously not to do because he has tummy/reflux issues and ends up gassy and spitting up all over the place. Not to mention the time she had his bottle propped and he was sitting in his car seat.

I am usually not a stickler for things, in fact, I'm a pretty laid back person because I worked in childcare for many years and that really helped break me in so i wasn't one of those neurotic people. But seriously, if  you can't handle a 2 yr old, 10 month old and an almost 5 month old than just tell me and i'll take my baby elsewhere. I feel bad bc it's my friends mom but i can't have my child sitting in his carseat all day and not being nurtured. it's bad enough I have to be at work. I'm not asking for her to carry him around all day, just hold him here and there, play with the kid... he's 5 months old!

Re: Thank goodness he's out of there!

  • Wow! I'd hate to think what might happen if you wouldn't be pulling him from there. Don't feel bad because it's your friend's mom... It's your baby!! And regardless of age, a child in some sort of childcare needs proper attention, Gio obviously wasn't getting that. Glad he's going to a different place.

Side note: you mentioning him rolling off the couch (which has no reflection on you, just the rolling babies thing), reminded me of an episode of "Bringing Home Baby" where the parents where so scattered those first few days (I'm sure that's with all) but I was kind of uncomfortable with them because at one point in the night, the cameras were rolling, the baby was screaming, and both parents were all "wth??". Turns out daddy fell asleep with baby on him, rolled over, the baby rolled off the bed and was screaming. They couldn't find the baby for a few minutes until they turned on the light. I was like, o.m.g.
  • Definitely sounds like you're making a good choice changing daycare options!  I don't know if I missed it, but what option are you going with instead of your mom's friend?
