Just had first WD40 experience...omg AWESOME
I've never used WD40 until today (might be weird, but whateves haha) and I'm amazed!!! I can't believe all the things it advertises on the back as being able to do. It's weird that I'm excited about this, I know, but I'm cool with it. lol Our front door doesn't squeak now! YES.
Re: Just had first WD40 experience...omg AWESOME
lol, I remember being pretty excited the first time I used it too!
You really only need two things in your tool box, WD-40 and duct tape.
If it doesn't move and it should, use the WD-40.
If it moves and it shouldn't, use the duct tape!
Love it!
There are better lubricants available than WD-40, although it does work well as a rust preventative. WD-40 dries into a gummy, varnish-like substance that's great for repelling water, but not for lubrication.
If the hinge can be disassembled easily, coat the pin lightly with some white lithium grease (about $3 for a small tube at Walmart or NAPA). Also put some where the interlocking 'fingers' of the hinge meet. Reassemble and wipe of excess.
My preferred general purpose lubricant for door hinges (car, home, etc.) is Breakfree CLP (cleans, lubricates, protects). Wal-mart sells it back with their gun stuff.
We use it to get difficult marks off the stainless steel sink. It is awesome and makes it SHINE!!
