Dyson Vacuum Reviews Please!
So I live in a loft with cement floors, some rugs and 2 shedding dogs!! With sweeping and swiffering it only does so much because the hair just sits on the cement waiting for any air to blow it around!!!! I'm seriously considering investing in a Dyson, but I'm not sure if it is worth it for the small amount of carpeting we have, I want to be able to use something on the cement as well....does anyone have one and ever use it on their hardwood floors or linoleum??
Re: Dyson Vacuum Reviews Please!
I've had my Dyson for over 4 years now and I love it! When I first brought it home, I used it and couldn't believe how much it had picked up after just using my old one. It was an insane amount of hair! We have a dog and cat who both shed a lot (both black) and we have a combination of carpet, hardwood and tile floors...it's always worked great on them!
I'm not sure how it would do on cement; I would assume okay but all I can picture is roughed up cement, which I'm sure is not the case in your home! As for rugs, like any vacuum, you have to be careful as sometimes the fabric of the rugs will get caught but it's really more based on the type of material the rug is.
If I can give you one advice, it's to get the canister Dyson. The upright is too heavy IMO. I bought the accessory ($50 http://www.dyson.com/store/parts.asp?accessory=ACC-DC07FT-SY&product=DC07-I-SCARLETT ) and I use my upright like a canister. I don't know about the Dysons ball though. Maybe they are lighter. But steer clear of the regular upright.
Oh and I use my Dyson on hardwood and tile mostly and it does a great job. Again, I am using the low reach floor tool. It reaches everywhere. The regular Dyson wasn't enough. I needed that extra tool.
I've had my Dyson for at least 4 years and I use it everywhere! Thing is wonderful!! It's the upright and canister in one if you get the original I know it's a good vacuum! My mom had a bit of trouble with the Animal, However I truly think that it's because she sucked water into it . . .
I used to live with two shedding cats and 3 rats and the hair alone killed several vacuums I had. . . No such issue with the Dyson, and as long as you change the bar's settings as you go along you can use it on any surface, and then the attachments and the handle turn into spider web gobblers for the ceiling and etc, even works great to clean dusty vents . . .
I have the Dyson Telescopic 17 (or something like that!) and I LOVE it. I dont think that I will ever buy another vacuum!
My only complaint is that periodically I have to take out the brushes because they get really clogged (I have a Black Lab which doesnt help!).
I have hardwood flooring in my kitchen/dining room and there is a special setting that you can use for "hardwood floors." The directions do say not to use the vacuum AT ALL outside though! I used to like to vacuum my porch, but I won't because of it....
I would highly recommend it, but I also also recommend using a Bed, Bath, and Beyond coupon to get it cheaper
