Today, I learned that your bank can close your account for any reason at any time. I went to buy groceries with our new bank card to make the minimum of 5 purchases a month to avoid the annual fee and was told that the card was declined. I paid with a different card and called H, who called the bank, who then told him that our new bank account here has been closed. They wouldn't give him a reason other than that it had been closed. I think it has to do with us transferring money into the account from an account at a different bank in a different state and then paying bills with that money in the new account right away. I don't know.

if you go into the branch, they should be able to tell you why. or at least give a guess as to why- it's the back office that normally makes the call to close an acct. but i agree, it's probably because you're funding your new acct with an out of state acct. did you open at a smaller bank in the area? i'd try with a larger corp like wells fargo, chase, bofa, etc. but back to your main point, yes, banks can close your acct. it's sorta like the "right to refuse service" deal. lol.
THIS! My grandmother used to tell me that the older you get, the faster time seems to fly by. Lately, I have seen SO well how true that was.
It's almost here! Weeeeeeee!

Totally agree with this. There are always more bills than money at the end of the day.
