getting a new phone

I'm considering upgrading from a basic phone to one with internet... we have Verizon, so no iPhone for us yet!

The two I have it narrowed down to are the Blackberry Curve and the Palm Pre. Does anyone have either?  Give me your advice.. pros and cons please!

Re: getting a new phone

  • i have the DROID and I'm happy with it.  No help on the others.

  • HH has the new Curve and loves it. I have the Storm and I really wish I still had a keyboard. The Curve also has wi-fi which is really nice and he uses that all the time, makes internet and apps a lot faster.
  • I have the DROID Incredible and I LOVE it!! It's like the iPhone for Verizon.  I'm not sure on the other phones. GL
  • HH used to have a blackberry curve and he really liked it. He upgraded to the iphone though (we have at&t). I don't know anything about the palm pre. I have the Samsung Solstice. Its small which I like and touch screen. I'm going to upgrade to the iphone whenever our contract is renewed though.

  • Droid phones are supposed to be good. The closest thing to an iPhone without being one. I think the chief complaint is that the apps aren't in one place so you have to look all over for them.
  • The blackberry curve is the way to go for sure.  We had the storms and hated them, I bought a curve on ebay so I could go back.  Plus BB messenger is the bomb!  You can talk to other BB people with no usage of texts from your plan.  It's like AOL IM.  That's the one thing we miss about not having Blackberrys anymore.

  • Don't know much about the curve but I have a friend who has gone through 4 palm pres in a year because of manufacturer problems and her newest one just broke in two because of a loose screw.

I've had both the Storm 1 and 2 and both sucked a$$.  We just got the brand new Samsung fascinate.  My parents both have the Droid Incredible and love them and my bro and sis-in-law have the Droid X and they love it too.

Eventhough we just got new phones... if the iPhone does come out next summer (as rumored) then we will both prolly upgrade.

Just a little insight from someone who has had Verizon for about 14 years.

  • i had the curve at one point... it was pretty good, but i love my iphone
  • I A-B-S-O-L-U-T-E-L-Y HATED my storm.  I was back at the store twice exchanging for a new one twice in a year.  I could NOT wait until my 2 years was up to get a new phone.  I just got the Droid X and can't tell you how much I LOVE it!!
  • I told you on FB that my sister's husband didn't get the Droid and regrets it.  He got the Palm Pre instead.  Did you look at the Droid?  I don't know much about any of them, but my sister and cousin both have it and love it.
