I've recently started the Couch 2 5k program (again) and I've signed up for the City Divided 5k on 20 Nov 10.
Okla and I were planning to do that run together-ish, depending on our speeds at that time I guess (that's right, I just publicly committed you to it too so that we can't back out). Is anyone else interested in doing it and/or having a running buddy in the meantime? I'll probably do most of my weekday runs just after work (so somewhere between 3:30-5:30) in the Moore / SE OKC area, but I'd be up for going elsewhere on the weekends.
I know we have a lot of die-hard fans around here for both schools and I thought it could be kind of fun. I did check the rules and strollers are not allowed during the race.

Re: City Divided 5k Run
A friend of mine and I walk/run/bitchthe whole way in SW OKC, usually MWF (when my schedule permits) around 9 or 9:30 PM. So you're welcome to join us (or anyone else who wants to!).

I might do that during weeks that I don't have Connor, since it looks like those weeks I'll be on a Sa/M/W/F schedule anyhow (and a Su/T/Th for weeks that I do have him).
Can you PM me your info sometime?
Biatch! No really, I am NOT backing out, totally down for this one. The roomie is in, too. I'm already planning what awesome OU gear to wear to run in!
On that note, if anyone near Lake Hefner wants a running buddy, hit me up.
Hey, I said WE can't back out! I am actually pretty excited. I'm also reading a book about running as a parent that's pretty motivational and helpful, so hopefully I can keep it up.
I'm totally planning to race in a running skirt by the way.
I was thinking of wearing a football uniform-ish thing. Or maybe just a jersery. Or a cheerleader skirt. With pom-poms in my hair. It's gonna get ugly, folks.
Also, here is a link if you're interested.

What book is it? I'm trying to find hubby a birthday present, and he's been obsessed with running.
I doubt this will be any help to you then, since I probably should have said running as a mom. The book is "Run Like a Mother."
I met one of the authors at a 10k (the Aflac Iron Girl race) that my sister and BFF ran last weekend.
