My Absentee Ballot: Signed, Sealed, Delivered
I filled it out yesterday -- all candidates, judges, state, city and county measures -- and put it in the mail.
Whatever shall I do now?
Anyone else going Absentee?

Re: My Absentee Ballot: Signed, Sealed, Delivered
After 2000 in Florida, however, I'm scared that absentee votes are never read, so I will never vote absentee if I can avoid it. In college, I changed my license to read my brother's address (who lived near me at school) so I could vote locally.
Why do you vote absentee?
For the last five years, the paper I work at has gone to press on Tuesdays. I would have to get to work early and usually stay late (especially on election day). So I became permanent absentee last year.
I find it easier to fill out and mail in. And considering the amount of new voters expected this year, I'm sure the lines will be long -- and the only long lines I wait in are ones that have a roller coaster at the end.
I *hope* my vote counts -- the Pollyanna in me says it will.
I won't make it to DL on Tuesday, but I will be there the following Saturday -- does that count?

Here I am baby.... I'm yours!
I've had the same fear, but the SoS in CA promises they're counted first.
Still, for now I like the act of going to the polls. Mr.P will probably vote early 'cause he has school that night.
At least in CA, it's not true that absentee ballots get counted last or weeks later. I think 50 percent of all CA voters are absentee so counting those ballots after an election result wouldn't fly. Bunny, I would check with your Secretary of State's website to verify how absentee ballots are counted. I sometimes think that the fear of absentee ballots comes from scare tactics used by those groups who are trying to suppress voter turn out.
I'm a permanent absentee voter. It's just easier. Often though I drop it off at a polling place on election day so I can get a "I voted sticker." Yeah! I haven't filled it out yet only b/c there are still some local races I am mulling over.
here in WA, a huge proportion of ballots are absentee.
When you register, you can register for "permanent absentee status", you get your ballots in the mail, fill em out and send them back.
I lurve it!
I am the 99%.
