WWYD?

So I ordered all of our dishes that we didn't get from Kohls. When my multiple boxes arrived today I started unpacking them and found this small leaf serving platter that we did not order and is not on our packing slip.

It is definitely not my style and I'm not sure what to do with it! Is it wrong to return it to Kohls since they're pretty liberal about taking returns and it has their price tag on the bottom of it? I definitely don't need it cluttering up my shelves!

Re: WWYD?

  • I was in a similar situation.  There was something to be picked up for me that was not on our registry at all, and from someone I don't know (there was another couple with the same name as DH registered at the same place).  Since that was the case, I let them know (because they could have found out and who knows what then).  But in your situation, I would probably just return it for something else or cash!  It's not like it's a huge ticket item or anything!
  • did you put it on a kohl's charge? if so you usually don't even need a formal receipt you can just return it. if they give you a problem just ask for store credit & buy something else.

  • I would either explain the situation and see what happens, or try to return it and pass it off as a gift w/out a receipt.  Otherwise you could always "regift" it!  Sure it's frowned upon, but since it was a gift from Kohls...
  • I would be honest about it, and if they tell you to keep it, then I would give it to someone as just a little extra for christmas.  Like not a big deal.
  • I would return it and pass it off as a gift w/out a receipt.  I know it might not be the most honest thing, but it is what I would do.

  • Why couldn't they send you something cool extra? Maybe they realized how weird those leaf platters are and were trying to get rid of them discretely.

  • Awww, I kind of like the platter....

I have an overactive sense of guilt, so there is no way I could keep it or exchange it.  I'd call and let them know.  They might let you keep it anyway,in which case you could do whatever you want without the guilt.
