Thursday randoms

This has felt like an incredibly long week.  Anyone else?

Re: Thursday randoms

  • Yes, but most weeks feel awfully long to me. I cannot wait until I'm not here anymore.
  • My stupid coolant light keeps coming on and I keep filling it. I don't know what the problem is.

  • It's flown by but it's been kind of a busy week for us.  I'm looking forward to finding some relaxation time this weekend.

I'm attempting homemade baked beans for the first time - from dry beans too which I've never used before for anything.  I soaked them last night and now they're cooking the crockpot for the day.  *fingers crossed* they turn out.

  • I just discovered that one of my front lights on my car is out.  So I will be fixing that and getting an oil change today on my lunch.

Based on the sticker in the corner of my window, I am 5,000 miles overdue for an oil change.  I really suck at car maintenance.  Embarrassed  In my defense, my car tells me that I have 15% left in oil life.  Eek.

Mine does this too. I've had it checked multiple times but no one can find anything wrong!

  • Morning!

This week has actually flown by for me, but I'm not really looking forward to the weekend. I have two weddings on Saturday, and SO is in one, which means I have to go to the other one by myself for a while...blah.

  • I am wondering if there is a leak somewhere or something. If this continues, I want to go to a place that does free inspections, etc. Does anyone know what places do this?

  • I was at an event this morning and afterwards a lady walked up to me and was looking at me. I thought maybe she was thinking I was someone she knew.  She said "you are beautiful! Just beautiful. you should take a picture."

Ummmm....thanks! I think she just goes up to random people to tell them something like that to make their day.

  • Hi ladies! A co-worker is back from maternity leave so work for me is adjusting back to my usual pattern. I hope to stop in here more frequently again. Hope you all are doing well!

Sounds like this in verbal form:

    Operation Beautiful

It's always nice to hear a compliment like that!

  • I'm getting really anxious knowing I'm almost halfway done with my CNA classes, because that means I'm that much closer to my state test.

I wasn't too nervous about it before, but now I am. People fail for forgetting little things, like not washing their hands after the procedure, or forgetting to wear gloves, or forgetting to check the ID bracelet...stuff like that.

  • Hi!

This has been an exhausting week for me.  I'm really looking forward to my upcoming vacation.

MB, what a nice stranger you ran into this morning!

Juli, I bought dried beans for the first time this week too!  My plan is to cook them and freeze them in small quantities so that I don't always have to buy cans of beans.  We'll see how that works out.

When I was at the Hospice/Duff event last night, a man walked up to me and said, "Excuse me, but you wouldn't happen to be a <my maiden name>, would you?".  It was the guy who lives across the street from my parents, four hours away from here!  Him and his wife were volunteering at the event and we talked to them for awhile.  So random.

  • Kasa, that is funny that you ran into a neighbor. My dad would always run into someone that he knew, no matter where we were at. We were in VA one time and he ran into a CW's son. The guy was looking at my dad like he was crazy because he had no clue who he was.

It is downpouring here at work right now. And a thunderstorm. My boss has a patio off of her office so we have that door open so we can hear the rain hit the balcony.

  • My SIL just sent me the info on my nephew's 9 month check-up.  Kid is enormous.

    Weight: 26 lbs 8 ounces (99th percentile)
    Length: 30 3/4 inches (98th percentile)

I wonder if there's a point you worry about a baby being too big?  I mean, he's a chunky monkey, but not super chunky really since he's so long.  I guess that's for doctor's to decide, eh?  My bro is 6'5" so it makes sense he'd be tall, I just wonder when he'll slow down.  I don't want to get a hernia just trying to pick him.

Wow!  What a big boy :)

Holy Smokes!!!  He weighs the same amount as Amelia. However Amelia is short so she packed solid.

  • I think T is about 21 lbs right now.  He won't be anywhere near 26 at his 9 month check up on Oct 15th.  Hehe.  He is heavy enough to carry around right now.  I can't imagine 26 lbs!
  • Am I the only one that feels tired and would like to curl up and take a long nap. Maybe it's the weather.
  • Deeder I am with you.
