I read through that article and wowsers! Totally overwhelmed by the creativity and out of the box thinking. Hopefully I can soak up a little of that when i go check it out.
If you are on Facebook and not a fan of GRnow, they are featuring some of the work.
The GR Press is featuring the main exhibit centers each day. And then including pictures of different works as they are being installed.
My take (which is just me extrappelating from the article) is that it is a display to evoke compassion. It puts a face to HIV and AIDS. So often we think of HIV and AIDS as a fearful disease and fail to recognize that this disease does not exist in a vacuum - it lives in people. So having the pictures taken through a film/layer of HIV+ blood is sort of like saying, "Look through the HIV to the person. See them and hear their stories."
I think its pretty inspiring!
