I've lost some weight in the past year and most of my old fall/winter clothes no longer fit. I used to pretty much shop at Lane Bryant & the plus departments at Penny's & Macy's. Now I can fit into "normal" sizes but I'm still loosing so I don't want to spend a lot of money. All of the affordable stores either have ugly clothes or are geared towards teens. Seriously, I made the mistake of walking into Forever 21-that stuff wouldn't even cover my rear end! Other more expensive stores like White House Black Market, Ann Taylor, etc, have nice work clothes but I could probably wear sweat pants to work and no one would blink.
So where do you like to shop?
Re: Where do you shop for clothes?
Kohls has a good selection. I am still in plus size, so sometimes even Meijer.
What about Old Navy?

You're right, it is a little harder to find stuff there. I recently found a pair of dark stretch jeans from Target I love! Im curvy, small waist, large hips/thighs/behind and they fit awesome. They also had a no gap waist, so when you bend over you dont show the whole world your underwear
I love Gap's jeans too.
ugh, sorry for the double post.
I'm a huge fan of Kohl's. They have a great selection and they aren't expensive. I just transitioned (within the past few years) a lot of my clothes to be more "my age" and I like Kohl's b/c I can browse a lot of different styles and still look nice. If you sign up for their promos, they have some really awesome deals, too.
Have you tried the outlets at Jeffersonville or the ones near Dayton (can't remember the area name)? I found some great stuff & deals at Banana Republic last weekend at Jville. I am also a big fan of The Loft & H&M. Some it can be "teen-ish", but they have a work section and I love their tops, which actually seem to be sized larger than the average stores. Macy's always has a great selection too- especially shoes, but unfortunately you are probably still in the same size shoe so it would be hard to justify new shoes
My sister in laws also love New York & Company (that's still around, right?).
SOME weight? Jen, you've lost TONS of weight and you look fabulous!
Hellooooo, Little Miss Skinny, look at you!
We are losing weight too and have been shopping at the Valley Thrift Store in Reading. I found some cute shorts and pants, name brands for under $5.
I know thrift stores aren't for everyone, but we have had good luck and they are pretty organized there. We don't want to spend a lot on clothes we are only going to wear for a few months.
Good Luck.
I want to see some before and after pics ladies!! I totally need some inspiration!
My weight has been up and down over the past 2 years so I know what you mean about not wanting to spend much on clothes. I also work at a super casual office but I'm not going to wear shorts like the other women (they're like a size 4)! I found some inexpensive knit tops at Ann Taylor Loft this year. I also shop the clearance at Banana Republic for tops and sweaters (I'm trying to lose enough weight to be able to wear their pants again). I have always shopped at Macy's mostly, but I haven't found much there lately.
Congratulations on the weight loss!
I have a co-worker that goes there and gets the most amazing things for cheap! I've been meaning to go there myself!
re thrift stores- I do go in there from time to time. I lost a lot of weight 10 years ago and I got all my clothes from Goodwill for a year or two. I was at a super low paying job so it was the perfect place to shop! A few years ago I lost hope of ever fitting into anything again so I gave it all back! I should see if I can find anything there-my only problem is that I know I'd go right for the safe, even frumpy outfits and I want to look stylish & cute for once!! Maybe I can find some basic pants & shirts at a thrift store & spend my money on accessories or a couple of cute tops.
As for before & after pics-honestly I'm not sure I have any of me at my heaviest! I lost about 18 pounds before our wedding, then gained all that plus at least 10 more back (I am truly not even sure of my top weight-I've blocked it out). I'm about 10 pounds below my wedding weight right now.
I second this! They are my FAV store! Too bad my car just needed a $1700 + repair or I would so have me a birthday money NY & CO trip! One tip: if you see something you like try it on in the store and if you are iffy about it buy it...and then if you don't like it take it back. My one issue with them is that their stock is usually low. I've been bummed out numerous times when I went back for an item and they were completely sold out or were out of my size! Good luck! YAY! For you!

Just chiming in, but F21 has a modest line (with fuller cuts) Love21 and "plus" line Faith21 that they carry in certain stores and online. While I don't shop exclusively there - I do find some really great pieces for cheap to update my wardrobe. I highly suggest their Fab Finds tees, these are staples in my closet and the fun jewelery helps liven up old stuff too.
Hope this helps.
You both look great!! Jen you should check out the new store at the Greene it's called Charming Charlie. They have some really cute stuff reasonably priced. It's back towards Von Maur in that area. I also shop at Target, Kohls, Macy's, and the Gap. I always shop at Macy's on the clearance rack and try not to wander over into regular price or I am in trouble. I should say I haven't really been shopping in quite awhile since right now my spending is going towards other things. I like the Limited, Express, The Loft and NY&Co when I shop more expensively, but never without coupons. lol
