Whoah reality check- shooting at Hopkins Hospital

I guess in Baltimore you never really can be safe, even at the "best of the best".  For once I am glad I work on the West side (Hopkins is referred to East side and UMaryland is West side).

Apparently the son of a patient was upset with his mother's medical care and shot the doctor.  He then proceeded to barricade himself in the room with his mother.  All different kinds of law enforcement units became involved.... push came to shove the suspect shot his mother and then himself.  They're saying the doc has non-life threatening injuries and is in surgery, he will most likely be okay.  CRAZY.

I hope this link works: http://www.wbaltv.com/news/25035885/detail.html

  • i saw that in the news and its so scary. thank goodness his injuries are not life threatening and i guess of all the places to be shot at, at least he was super close to medical care!

one my of my friends from HS, his GF works at that hospital but she was on a different floor so they only got locked down. i cant even imagine how scared she must have been :/

  • It was all over the news up here in Canada too.

    AND

Did anyone happen to watch the rerun of Grey's finale tonight? It's the gory 2 hour one with Derek's old patient's husband bring a gun into seattle grace? Anyways, at the beginning, they had the "Scenes may be violent.  Viewer discretion is advised." But they added to tonight's showing..."Due to today's news events and .... viewer discretion is advised."
