s/o airline miles - losing them!

so on an opposite spin from USING airline miles... i'm about to lose american airlines miles... just 1250 of them, but really they're not worth trying to transfer to my inlaws. (plus, i dont think there's american airlines in Guam) my MIL told me that i could donate my miles so i checked in to it and I'm donating my miles to Operation Hero http://www.aa.com/i18n/urls/heromiles.jsp?anchorLocation=DirectURL&title=heromiles

Will go twoards providing travel for families of American military men and women who are being treated for injury at military hospitals around the globe. Air travel is provided to family members and close friends visiting U.S. servicemen and women hospitalized due to their service in Iraq or Afghanistan.

I  think that is absolutely awesome that my miles are not going unused. so, next time you're about to LOSE miles - see if you can donate them!!

Re: s/o airline miles - losing them!

  • that's an awesome organization! That's great that you could put them towards such a great cause!

i've flown twice in my life and haven't been signed up for any type of program, so I have ZERO miles. :)

  • I have heard about that before, but I'd forgotten about it.  DH is the one who might have some miles that expire, because he would always sign up for the frequent flyer program for whatever airline he was flying that week.  I should remind him to look into it.
