Window cleaning

To save some money by hiring someone to come do it, I am going to attempt to clean windows in our house before the cold weather sets in and we're stuck with filthy windows all winter.  This is gonna be first time I'm attempting to take off all the windows and clean them.....whats the best product to use to get them spotless and best way to clean around the window frame all that dirt/dust/mold whatever it is that kinda accumulates?

Re: Window cleaning

  • In my house, I use a splash of vinegar and ammonia in a spray bottle with warm water, then wipe it down using unprinted newspaper. For the nastyness in the frame, I loosen what I can with a utility brush, then vacuum it out, and wipe clean with hot vinegar/water and a microfiber towel.
  • I start with spraying them down with the hose to loosen things up.  Then I use a bucket filled with warm water, vinegar & a squirt of dish soap.   I use a squeegie/sponge thing to clean things.  If necessary, I'll go over it with glass cleaner & newspaper too.

I think i'll do mine this weekend too!
