Top Chef (spoilers)
Am I the only one who thought Kevin was Latino the whole time?
I went into it semi rooting for Ed, but he was such an ass the whole time that I ended up really happy with the whole results.

I was disappointed, I didn't think Kevin should have been in the final 3 anyway. I'm happy Angelo didn't win though, something about him creeps me out.
ETA: yes, when he said he was the first African American to win I was like huh? really? who knew?
Mashed, I was pissed that Kevin was still in the game after Tiffany was sent home, but I think he has really stepped it up since then.
Ed pissing and moaning about Angelo and saying he hoped he was too sick to cook made me angry. His attitude is just awful.

I assumed Kevin was African American. I was pulling for him by the end because Ed lost me whining like a scared kid that he hoped Angelo stayed sick and I thought it was unfair that Hung (sp?) did half Angelo's work. I mean cooking isn't just putting heat to the product once everything is prepared. Otherwise, the burger flipper at Mickey D's is a Top Chef. Plus, Kevin's vegetable course was the only one that wasn't a meat or seafood course with some veggies added.
I was surprised that Ed didn't get dinged that not only did his dessert suck, but he didn't have anything to do with it. It was 100% Elon. S/o. I laughed that no one wanted Elon as sous chef.
Isn't it always interesting that he with the best sous chef always wins? Hmmm.
Anyone watch TC: Just Desserts? Any good?
They needed a bigger kitchen - all those egos barely fit in there.
Did anyone else giggle that they were in Singapore and cooking at "Jim Thompson, A Thai Restaurant"?
I watched about 2/3 of Just Desserts. It follows the same format, just with sweets. I don't know what I think about their desserty Tom yet - he doesn't seem to have the same charm, but maybe he just needs to grow on me. I really like Gail. It seems like some of the people are pro pastry chefs and some are just bakers, which I find interesting.
Lorne and I couldn't remember Kevin's name before the show last night. I think I called him "the latino guy." When Gail said she liked his version of the Singapore Sling better than the original I was pretty sure he'd won.
Also: Stupid Ilan. That guy bugs.

(AA really?!?!?! i thought he was a Rican too! Rats restaurant is **awesome* btw ... it's on the Grounds for Sculpture in Princeton, and it's just a magical place.
oh well.. on to the reunion show I guess.

Yeah, it would've been BS if Angelo had won limping along on Hung's shoulder. It sucks he got sick, but that shouldn't end up giving him an advantage. And I was rooting for Ed -- I think he saw his negative comments as standard competitive ribbing, but he did get a little biitchy. I'm pissed Tiffany didn't come to the finale. I think she should've won it.
Next week, PEA PUREE INVESTIGATION! It'll be like when we found out Deep Throat's identity.
