Grand Traverse Pie Company recs?

If you've been recently, what can you recommend? I'm meeting a friend for lunch today and haven't been in ages. Kinda hard with DH's allergies.

  • So they DO have food here.  I suggested this place to my H for lunch and he told me they only had desserts.  Hmph.

Have a nice lunch.  Sorry I have no suggestions as I have never been there before...  :)

LOL! They have soups, salads, sandwiches, and even some combos--think "small scale Panera." :)

  • I LOVE their grilled chicken focaccia sandwich. I usually get a half sandwich and half salad. I really like the Strawberry Fields salad (i think that's what it is called). It has strawberries, mandarin oranges, apples, onions, and pecans. I get it w/ the FF Rasberry Vinagrette.

  • That's one of the sandwiches that jumped out at me. Glad to hear it's good! Thanks. :)

  • Oh, and this sounds really weird, but they make pie smoothies that are delicious!!! They take a piece of pie and blend it with FF frozen yougurt. They give you a thick straw so you get chunks of pie as you drink it. The crumb pies work best for this. So yummy!

Haha, a pie flurry! :) Yum.

  • Love their French Dip!!
  • I believe they still have some sort of cherry chicken salad and that was very good.  I can't have the soups & sandwiches, so we don't go there often.  I have been known to eat the filling out of the chocolate cream pie even though I shouldn't get that close to the crust.

Also, not all of the branches have the pie smoothies.  We asked for one in Muskegon & they looked at me like I had two heads.

Are you wheat/gluten free, too? That is DH's issue. And he has eaten just the pie filling, too. ;)

Yep.  Thankful not so sensitive that I can't cheat a little, although that's probably a bad way to look at it.

Haha, DH, too. ;) That mentality has landed him in the can on more than one occasion, but he says it was worth it.

  • What did you end up getting? Smile
