We got a Kitty!! *AW
So I took Lucy in to our vet today to update her Bordetella since she'll be at a kennel all weekend (its cute though. . they call it a bed and biscuit) and when I got there, there was this cat.
A very cute cat, older, but cute and she instantly distracted me. Apparently her owners had come on hard times as many have and couldn't deal with taking her to the pound. She's older (5 ish) so they thought she'd get passed over for the kittens, which is typically how it goes. So they dropped her off outside of the vets office this past Saturday with a note saying "they were sorry" along with all of her info.
She's spayed, declawed in the front, clean on all tests, updated on shots and had a very healthy check up aside from a little tub. The vets gave her a free exam earlier this week. She was also free for me to take home

We've been looking for another cat for a while *searching craigslist for kitties* and I knew I wanted an orange tabby like cat, but the costs that come from getting a kitten is what kept deterring me away from taking the step.
So POOF here's 'Rudy' in the vets office, completely ready to go, free on all levels and perfectly healthy, plus shes amazingly sweet. . . sooooo now Lucy(Basset) and Gir (other kitty) have a new sister )
Sorry is so long, I'm just really excited about the new addition! Now here is to hoping all kitties play nice ) I'll have to post pics when I get some.

How sweet!! You are grade A for giving that baby a home. How hard it must be for someone to have to give up a family pet in hopes of them finding a home. But I must say I dont think thats the best thing to do.

YEAY!! Thank you for taking in a homeless kitty! Sometimes you know you are living "right" because everything just falls into place--I'm glad you and Ruby found each other!
If my boy weren't so protective of me and "his" home, I'd have brought home the kitty that bit me--he just wanted to go to a home and not back into his little cage at the shelter. If anyone is looking for a charcoal grey cat, please let me know!!
I want another kitty. DH says no but I also think Boots would have a fit if we were to get another one.
I thought Buster would have a hissy fit about a new addition, but he absolutely LOVES Miss Jimi. He's ok with Janis, but Janis doesn't like anyone but mommy and daddy, so she's hard to get along with. She doesn't get along with her own sister (Jimi) most of the time!
Maybe you could get a "loaner" or bring a possible brother/sister home for a trial period and see if Boots would have a fit or not (if you can convince DH, of course). You never know, they can surprise you.
DH is the reason we have 3 cats, a 65-70lb dog and a fish. Only one of these animals (Buster) I brought into the relationship!
