Cleaning and Organizing Without Lifting?

I'm having the toughest time getting any big strong help to clean :o(

My hubby and I just moved, and of course whenever that happens you have disaster on your hands. . . now the stinky part is I can't actually move most of it into place or even get to stuff that I can put away cause everything is so heavy and I'm pregnant, on severe weight restrictions because of past problems . . .

Any suggestions to make the heavy stuff lighter or maybe roll easy or slide easy? I've got very few furniture pieces, but they all seem to be horribly heavy!

Re: Cleaning and Organizing Without Lifting?

  • How about your DH?  If he's not able or willing (which he should be willing if he's able) can your parents or IL's help?  Sorry you're on restrictions, I know it sucks.
  • DH has been working long hours so by the time he gets off work, I'm already out like a light :o( I tried to get stuff done this weekend while he was home, We didn't get very far, half because we had a million and one other things planned, half because of lack of motivation on both of our parts . . . lol . . I was just hoping maybe there'd be some easy way to make the stuff budge without having to try and re-enlist people that are way too busy to help! They moved us, that was a huge help! I didn't want to be the needy in-law and try and have them come help me re-arrange cause of my neatfreakness lol
  • they make furniture sliders -- discs you can put items on that help to slide them.

Or you can look to hire some labor off of craigslist for a couple of hours... $50 could change your life!
