NYC in January need Subway info
Hello Girls,
I'm planning our 1st anniversary trip to go to NYC.
So far we are arriving into JFK. Our hotel is looked 5 minutes away from the Grand Central Station. I wanted to know is there a subway that goes from the airport to Grand Central Station?
Also, we want to use the subway the 5 days we are there whats the best offer to purchase the subway tickets cause i read its more expensive buying it at the station but i dont know what subway option i have like that i can buy the tickets.
Thanks girls
Vanessa

here is how you'd do it via air train and subway:

if you have a lot of luggage it can be kind of annoying to lug it on the air train and subways, i'd probably just take a cab, but that would obviously be more expensive.
i've never bought a metro card (what we call subway tickets) anywhere but the station. they have automated machines in the stations that you can purchase at with credit/debit cards. some stations of a booth agent that you can purchase from also.
here is info on where you can buy metro cards and the rates: http://www.mta.info/metrocard/
happy anniversary!
This bus is the best way to get to Grand Central:

It is more than the subway, but less than a taxi. And way easier than the subway, especially with luggage.
Definitely get the unlimited 7 day pass. As long as you use the subway more than twice a day you'll get your moneys worth out of it since it's normally $2.25 per ride.
Also, you will EACH need one of these, it will be well worth it for 5 days worth of sightseeing.
