Aerorea, hope all went well!
I was thinking of you as I left Kennestone this morning! Hope all went well and that the recovery is quick and relatively comfortable.
I give you props for taking the initiative in your health issues... so many times we see people at the hospital when there is nothing else that can be done.
Hope DH is a good little nurse for you

On an unrelated note, that pic of Emmaline deserves a caption.
"Please, sweet baby Jesus, let Mommy forget about naptime today. Amen".
is aerorea cheating on us? gasp! jk
I posted on here! In the good morning thread. Heh, though I probably shouldn't have even been attempting to type on the iPad with an IV in one arm!
I am home and just have to take it easy for a few days. I'm not in "pain" per se, but just some discomfort on my right side, near where the needle went in and also my shoulder due to a nerve that runs near there. I just have to rest, no lifting, stretching, bending, etc.
The staff at Kennestone was fabulous. I arrived at 6:30 and everyone was so pleasant and happy to help. I was in the vascular unit and my pre and post-op nurse was just great. She was so sweet and made sure I was as comfortable as possible. The lady who came around to put in my IV got me with hardly any pain and on the first try. To me, that is amazing, because it has never happened before. The last time I had an IV, I nearly blacked out because the nurse couldn't get me. Even now, there's barely a mark.
When it was time, I was wheeled out to a close by area that was freezing and I was given warm blankets. I was given the twilight drug via IV while they were sterilizing my side. The IV had to be adjusted before it started to take though. I felt the Novocaine needle to numb me up. I did not feel the ultrasound at all, but I know they had to have used it to guide the needle. I felt the initial stick of the biopsy needle, but it didn't really hurt. I heard the noise of the sample being taken. Then the next thing I knew I was being wheeled back into the little room in the vascular unit and instructed to lay on my side. The spot is right under my right breast.
Dh is taking good care of me. I haven't had any issues other than some light-headedness when I first got home.
