What is everyone doing??? Any big plans? Any costume ideas?
We're going to the annual Halloween party that we go to every year at my brother's house. Don't know what we're going to wear this year though. Kevin wants to go as Tony Stark (IronMan) but not in his IM suit. Just with the reactor and stuff under a t shirt with the facial hair etc. Like this...

So I was MAYBE thinking of going as Pepper Potts... but I might steer away from the couples costumes on this one.
We won the costume contest a few years ago when we went as Wesley/DreadPirate Roberts and Princess Buttercup
Re: Halloween...
I LOVE Halloween costumes!!! I went to UNC-Chapel Hill and there is a ginormous Halloween celebration every year on Franklin Street (the same street where people jump over fires and go nuts after the Tarheels win basketball championships & such). I'm really hoping one of our friends throws a costume party this year, or we just might have to! We didn't do anything last year (DH worked and I sat at home waiting to give candy to kids but they never came because our light out front was broken - hahaha!), but here's a picture of us from my senior year at UNC (2 years ago):
I would love some good costume ideas for this year!
Adam and I are super lame and never do halloween. I can never find a costume that I really want and have no creativity to make my own. A couple years ago we went to an impromptu party and I dressed as a (surprise!) nurse...and not the sexy kind, just in my scrubs. So I'm pretty lame.
It falls on a Sunday this year and it's my weekend to work, so it's likely we will not be doing anything. I really want to hand out candy, but chloe flips out when the doorbell rings and I think some kids would be scared with the deep bark she has. I really want to get her to stop doing that, but I don't know how.
You've heard what I've done, not what I've been through.
If you were in my shoes, you'd fall the first step."
I love Halloween! I haven't dressed up the past couple years because we didn't have anywhere to go. My last costume was a Lumber Jill.
Last year we stayed home and handed out candy to all of about 10 kids who came to our house...first Halloween in our new home then and DH wanted to be a "good neighbor" - lol.
Not sure what we'll do this year - I hate going out since I'm always worried about running over kids we can't see in the dark and such (paranoid, I know)...but I do love Halloween parties! Maybe we can host something small or one of our friends will...
I LOVE Halloween! We always have a get together at our house before heading out to the bar and seeing everyone's costumes. It's so much fun!
In the past I've always made fun of the whole "sexy" costume thing by dressing up as something normal and then putting "sexy" in front of it. Like, "sexy Bob Ross"
Pretending to be sexy at a bar with a mustache is hilarious, by the way.
Last year Greg and I went as Horny Potter and Her-do-me. heheh. This year I'm going as Leeloo from 5th Element and Greg is going as Bruce Willis in the end battle scene (ripped tux and stuff)-- I'm stoked!
The best costume award of all time though, goes to my best friend Mandy-- it's a terrible cellphone picture, but she was a toll doll:
I found blue feathers in my apartment until the day we moved out!
Megan I'm pretty sure I love you hahahaha. Sexy bob ross is hilaaarious! And I love Fifth Element, on of my all time faves
I've never been than into Halloween, one time i went to a friends house and I was wearing a company t shirt, the one that all the shop guys wear so I said I was a sheet metal worker lol. Last year I was a Bavarian beer wench, and brandon had the guy bavarian costume, and we got big beer steins and I made a big batch of lemon drop in my mug hahaha.
This year I'm going as Sookie Stackhouse from True Blood and my bestie is being Arlene. We've got the merlotte's waitress outfits. We aren't sure what we are actually going to do though! haha
I flippin LOVE Halloween. My mom is a huge costume fanatic, so we always had stellar costumes as kids. She still gets dressed up every year and goes to a big halloween party, her costume is already all done and she is stoked.
I love getting to choose a different "character" for myself, and I love when it's something kooky and will make people laugh.
Unfortunately, I married a man who HATES dressing up, so it is impossible to get him to do anything, and when I force him to go to a party he will throw something together at the last minute.
One of my friends had an awesome costume last year but I can't jack the idea bc then there would be photographic evidence that I stole it! But here's a pic. They thought of this last minute.
Here are some costumes from Halloween's past:
Last year I was a butterfly
The year before that, I was a Wet TShirt Contest Winner, and Dave was Joe the Plumber (these were literally thrown together that night, after him arguing that he didn't want to do anything for Halloween):
The year before that, I was a Jager girl (again, thrown together because he didn't want to do anything, and I had this outfit because I was, in fact, a Jager girl for a very very brief period of time)
The year before that was one of my favourite costumes ever. All my friends were dressed as slutty-somethings, and I just wasn't into it. So while they all went and spent a crazy amount of $$ at the sex costume store, I went to Toy's R Us and bought a toddler's zebra costume. Aged 2-4 years. And rocked it.
Another one, just because I think it's hilarious:
And finally, this one is from a few years back. It may be slightly inappropriate, but I roll like that. Sorry if this offends anyone. Yes, it is a dildo, and yes I am assaulting the guy who passed out at the party with it. I was a devil in a blue dress, and I LOVED that costume!!
Hahaha, I love the zebra costume! That's such a good idea!
Greg has done some awesome costumes.
Behold, Creepy Dad:
and this is Build-a-Face Greg-- you could go up and remove pieces from the mask and put new ones up. It was unintentionally scary looking! haha
We're not big Halloween people, but I do get to dress up at work every year (yet another perk of my job; the child development center goes trick-or-treating around campus, and I claim that I must wear a costume "for them"). I love costumes and have far too many that I've accumulated for various things over the years.
I've been a Jedi knight, Morgan le Fay, and a Boy Scout. I also have my old Girl Scout uni and a ton of pioneer dresses from when I went on wagon train re-enactments in high school.
Last year I was going to be a cowgirl but didn't end up going to work that day, so I will be a cowgirl this year.
