Circuit Cutters

So I do a lot of scrapbooking stuff and I hear a lot of people talk about circuit cutters... I've looked around and they seem so expensive! What exactly do they do and how worth it are they? Does anyone have any recommendations? I'm thinking about setting money back to get me one, but they're so expensive. If it's worth it though, I won't mind spending a little extra instead of just getting a super cheap one.

TIA!

Re: Circuit Cutters

  • If you do a lot of scrap booking then I'd say to get one, it's worth the money. There are a few different ones, I suggest going to their website and see which one fits your needs best. I found it to be the most useful for me while teaching to make my bulletin boards, etc. It's def. worth it though. I made my SIL wedding save the dates on them as well.
  • Watch QVC or HSN. They usually have great deals on the Cricut Expression (the largest one) I have one and love it. I make cards on it, etch glasses *using the vinyl you cut with it to make a stencil* I make tons of things. The possibilities are endless with it. I highly rec. it if you do a lot of scrapbooking. It's super handy. Don't let the catridges throw you off there's ways around not having ot buy them and being able to cut out whatever image you want. I have the SCAL *Sure Cuts A Lot* program and I've never bought the 1st cart.

HSN usually has the machine, 3 carts., a roll of vinyl, etching cream, the little tools to remove paper, and the 24x24 mat for about 199.00 with free shipping. HTH

  • Awesome, thanks! I'll check it out. I know I looked at them at Walmart, but there was only one and I figured maybe I should check Hobby Lobby or Michael's or something. I was afraid I'd pay a lot more there though. I'll research it some more. Thanks so much!
  • I have the small cricut that only cuts up to 6 inch paper. I would suggest getting at least the expression. I know there is a new one that came out this week but I do not know too much about it.

  • Okay, so I've been looking and let me know...is this a good deal? I'll be working overtime at work to save up for it, so it won't be coming out of our budget or anything like that so I am willing to spend the extra bucks... But this one looks really good and prints up to 23". Since I got married and moved most of my crafts have been boxed up and I'm finally getting them out and organized and I want to get back into my scrapbooking and stuff and I feel like this will be a good thing for me...I need my hobby back!

I feel so selfish for considering such a purchase, but I really want one and I'm working extra to buy it, so... Hey, I'm working extra to get us a new mattress set too so I don't feel as bad...  ;>

  • I have the expression and will be another person telling you its worth it. I think you actually Save money by not having to buy stickers and decals, its cheaper to make the letters nd cutouts! I need to know how Paula gets around buying cartridges. I usually get mine off eBay for way cheaper.
