removing cat pee-product rave

I've been using essential oils for a while in massage and in my own eco friendly cleaners, but a while back we had a little incident (door blew shut while we were gone and locked the cat in the guest room-she peed under the bed) and I tried everything to get the smell out. Nature's miracle, generic pet spray, steam cleaning, vinegar & baking soda, no dice. We have laminate flooring so it had absorbed under the floorboards. It reeked to walk by the door and on really humid days it was even worse.

I forget where now but I remembered reading somewhere that Young Living's Purification blend removes the smell. I dripped two drops on the floor and spread it with a paper towel yesterday. Smell is GONE. Highly recommend it for anyone else who can't seem to get rid of the stench.

  • I'll have to pass this info onto my friend... very interesting.  Does it specify if you can only use it on certain fabrics?

  • its a therapeutic grade EO, so its SUPER concentrated. I probably wouldn't put it directly on a fabric, but you could dilute some in water and spray it on. I make my own febreeze with other EOs of theirs.

  • Thank you so much for your review.  Like you, I tried all the other alternatives including renting a commercial steam cleaner with little success.  Where can this product be purchased?  I have to admit I've not heard of it.

  • Oooh thank you so much for this post.  DH and I adopted a stray a few weeks ago, and she peed in her carrier on the way to the vet, and despite massive amounts of cleaning, I haven't been able to get the smell out.  I am definitely going to try this.

  • I may try this. I googled it and don't really want to spend $23 on something like that, I have also tried everything else out there that I can find and nothing has really worked.  Thanks for the tip.
