Things that are shaking my confidence

1) I have a student named Cecilia this year and I was sure that by now I'd have gotten the song out of my head but no such luck.

B) I was certain that going from middle schoolers to 2nd graders would mean less foul language and more fun. Yesterday a 7 year old girl wrote "mother duck" on a scrap of paper and tossed it across the table. Except she didn't write "duck" and the 2nd half was the only part spelled correctly.

Tatertots) Popcorn chicken, chili cheese tots, and a Campfire blast from Sonic have me doubting my ability to get back on track with weight loss.

I'm pretty sure it's pronounced your mom's a moron and if you didn't have your name legally changed by the age of 22, so are you. Unless you're from another continent. -Groomz

Re: Things that are shaking my confidence

  • They put a Sonic here.  It causes or caused (when it first came) RIDICULOUS traffic on the highway.  Lines out the wazoo and police directing traffic in the middle of the highway because of it.

It's fast food.  How good can it be?  I mean, I like a Wendy's chicken sandwich like one or twice a year, but traffic stopping?  Why?  Tell me about Sonic.  (It's not close enough to me to bother going there).

  • If the line was that long, I wouldn't have stopped. I like their tater tots and blasts which are just their version of a DQ blizzard.

I heard one of the car dealerships or some other business on 17 was charging to park in their lot so you could walk up and order when Sonic first opened. It's good but not that good.

  • I actually haven't gone that far down 17 since they were doing a ton of construction down there.   Traffic was ALREADY bad from that. Sonic didn't help.  No reason for me to be down there.

Someone said their milkshakes are to die for or something.

  • I haven't been up that way in ages, I can only imagine what a traffic nightmare it caused.

Their milkshakes may be to die for but not sure if they're worth the road rage.

  • It was like that up here when we got our first Krispy Kreme. It died down after a few months and then they mostly went out of business.

I know- it's so weird.  When he's in his pajamas, sleep sack and paci, he looks like a baby.  But, then get him dressed, and see him running around, trying to play with older kids, he looks 12.

  • Irish, what grade of middle school did you teach? I teach 7th. While I could do without the bad language and OMGDRAMAZFML BS that girls go through every. single. day, I actually really enjoy it.
  • I taught 6th and 7th grade for 7 years and taught 2 extremes, gifted and at-risk kids who had been left back twice. I did enjoy it most of the time but 2nd grade has more fun hands-on stuff.

The move to 2nd grade didn't leave the girl drama behind completely. It's just the tame "you're not my friend anymore" and "he's my boyfriend" variety without the namecalling and hair pulling.

I overheard one of my boys the other day tell someone he had 4 girlfriends...hopefully I don't have to break up a 2nd grade version of a cat fight anytime soon.

  • I generally think Sonic food is gross (and they're everywhere here since they started in OK).  Except for the campfire blast.  Mmmmmm.

  • I recently had Sonic for the first time in a million years and I don't get the hype. I got cheesy fries and it was just velveeta heaped on top of mediocre fries. I chose not to have a milkshake because I don't need any excuses to actually like Sonic.

    11/11/11 = 5 years. Woah!
  • The ice cream, the onion rings, and the texas toast grilled cheese are the only reasons to eat at Sonic. The onion rings are soooo good.
