Do you have any movies that you secretly love?
All I can remember for now is this Lifetime Tori Spelling movie, don't even remember what all it's about, but it's called Mother, May I Sleep With Danger? Come on, you have to love that on the title alone, right?
Does anyone remember a movie in the 80s i think with Kirk Cameron and.... Jami Gertz? I think, about a debate team or something, and a friend of theirs who is troubled, and he drives a fast red car in one scene, and Alphaville's Forever Young is playing in the background? Hmm, I wonder if the debate issue was abortion or something.
And then there's this other Lifetime movie I saw recently, forget what it's called, but it was awesome! This woman moves in with her brother-in-law and niece and nephew when her sister / their wife/mother dies. She's secretly in love with the guy, and when he falls in love and proposes to someone else, she starts this evil manipulative campaign to destroy the other woman! Mwahahaha!
Please share your guilty pleasure movies!

Re: Movies you are sort of ashamed to like
I don't know what it's called (probably could google it) but I totally remember watching that debate movie on TV!
There are a few movies that would probably fit into the category of movies I "shouldn't" like... I'm not ashamed that I like them, but it's not like they're earning me any cool points! Practical Magic is one. I also have an insane love for Twister. I've probably watched that movie 60 times since it came out. I own it, and whenever I come across it on cable I can't turn it off. Hi, my name is mrsdarling, and I LOVE TWISTER.
Feel exaclty the same way, except mine is the Sound of Music..."the hills are alive with the sound of music lalalalalalala". Drives my dh crazy! Though we do have alot repeat viewings of Ferris Buellers Day Off. Also there was a recently aired HBO movie called, The Pillars of the Earth, that was adapted from a novel by Ken Follett, we both absolutely loved! Anything to do with that time era, totally captivates me.
Weekend At Bernie's.
'Nuff said.
But do you tell everyone it's Dangerous Liasons ?
BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Best.Friends.Episode.Ever.
I'm going to a Sound of Music Sing-A-Long at the Hollywood Bowl next week!
It's LA's summer venue for music events - but this one is just a huge screen playing S.O.M, and a costume contest in the beginning for most orginal costume! Then watching the movie and the whole audience singing along! I can't wait.
I always wanted to be Liesel when I was really little...you know that bit in Sixteen Going On Seventeen where she jumps over the gaps in the benches in the gazebo? I always wanted to do that. I'm a big nerd.
me too! i think every girl who wasn't 16 yet dreamed of a lovely boyfriend by 16 .... and a gazebo scene with him. unfortunately, no such thing occurred.
My sister and I go to that every year! It's so much fun! We go the day after Thanksgiving here in Chicago. And yes.....we dress up! We both wear our German dirndls.
Probably just as well since he turned out to be a Nazi.
Love this movie. Don't know why either, lol. I get sappy for a lot of those weird Lifetime movies. I was watching one last night that was good (the 19th wife or something?), but I didn't see the end of it.
are you talking about Less Than Zero with Robert Downey Jr as the friend/drug addict? I don't think KC was in that though.
I'm a huge fan of SOM and the gazebo scene - I think that's why I love gazebos! Just One of the Guys was a favorite cheesy 80s movie. and I think I know every single word of Reality Bites.
ETA: I'm gaga for Dangerous Liaisons, Reckless (with Aidan Quinn), most movies with John Cusack, and any teenage 80s movie with the Brat pack.
The real Dangerous Liaisons? Or are you a Friends fan too and this is code for "Weekend at Bernie's for me, too"?
ha, no code here, I really do like DL, for real. But I do love Friends and WaB's (that whole John Cusack thing!)
