What if this happened to YOU 7 days before your wedding?
I am going to a wedding in Richmond next weekend. The bride and groom live in NYC. The bride locked her 27K engagement ring in her locker at the gym. Someone broke in and stole it. They get married next Saturday.
Can you imagine?
Re: What if this happened to YOU 7 days before your wedding?
Wow. That is absolutely insane.
And that ring is way too expensive. Something like that I would totally lose.
Wow, that's terrible. :-(
I have to agree with PP's though. Having a ring that costs that much would make me nervous. Did she have insurance on it?
Oh no! My heart just broke a little bit for her. Wow.
Aside from what pp's said about the $$ value (crazy!), I'd be devastated if my ring was stolen, in general!
I hope her jeweler has a loaner ring that looks similar that she can use for pictures until she can get it replaced (obviously assuming she has insurance). DH had to do that with my Ering when he proposed because my ring wasn't ready by the date he wanted to pop the question.

I probably wouldn't be trusting a gym locker to keep a ring that pricey safe, really.
But it does suck to get something that valuable stolen!
I my goodness. I'd be FREAKING out!! Like the rest of the ladies have said, I can't even imagine having a ring that cost that much money (hello...down payment on a house!) nor do I think I'd ever take it off my finger.
Yikes! Keep us posted on what the outcome of this is

Ditto PPs, that is terrible. I hope she has insurance! Or that like someone said, the jeweler might be able to loan her something similar in the meantime (though that might be a long shot). Very sad!!
I too think the ring is freakishly expenisve... at the beginning of my career that was a year's salary for me! They live in Manhattan and have plenty of $$ but he still had to drain his savings and barrow from his dad. (My DH is a groomsmen, we don't really know the girl)....she seemed totally normal until I found out she demanded that ring!
I don't know what they have done about a replacement....I'll let you know after the wedding this weekend!
