Where is everyone this morning?
Re: Morning!
Hi!
Nope, not leaving today. I left last Monday and got back on Friday :-)
Good Morning!
How was your trip?
How was your trip? Mexico, right? Where did you stay?
I'm ready for Friday already, how sad is that? My weekends are always so busy I never have time to just sit around and be lazy or get things done around the house that need to be done. I need a few days alone with no plans.
Too bad this weekend and next weekend are booked solid already. Ugh.
Mexico was great! We stayed at Catalonia Royal Tulum. The weather was awesome Mon, Tues, and Wed, and was nice on Thurs until about noon, then it rained. Nothing crazy, but it was kind of a bummer that our last day there was rainy. I guess hurricane Karl was near us, but besides some rain on Thurs it was fine. It was pretty windy on Wed and the waves were bigger but it was nice. We thought the 'big' waves were a lot like a windy day in Grand Haven. A lot of people seemed to be afraid to go in the water, but it was awesome for us.
There were a LOT of Europeans there. It seemed like we were one of the few couples that spoke English. We actually met an American couple honeymooning from Lansing! They were a lot of fun. It was nice to have another couple to hang out with on the rainy day. I actually invited the woman to join us here on the GR Nest board. She spent some time on the Knot while planning, so I told her when she gets back she should 'hang out' with us.
Awesome! Glad you had a fun trip. Isn't that weird when you are in a different country and meet someone who lives nearby?
We went to Cancun a few months after we got married, and we were at a bar waiting to get into a restaurant. I think my H was sitting at our table and I was at the bar getting us drinks, and this girl comes up to me and says "Are you from Muskegon?"
I was speechless... hehe.
Turns out she went to high school with H's little sister, and she saw me in the pool earlier that day with H (she recognized him). Such a small world.
I was seriously blown away when she asked me if I was from Muskegon though. That was the last thing I expected to hear from a complete stranger.
Yeah, I can't remember the last free weekend we had. This past weekend we worked on the bathroom, again. We'll be working on it non-stop until October 9 when we have our football party. Our house has been a disaster because of it. It's hard to clean around tools, and it's hard to get motivated to dust everything when I know we're not totally done sanding/sawing. Ugh! I can't wait to be done!
Sounds like a blast, Wop! Our friend is planning a week in Mexico for a group of us in December right now and I know she had in narrowed down to somewhere in Cancun. Glad to hear it went well for you!
D&M I can also relate to not feeling rested after busy weekends. When it really starts to get to us we'll make it a point to NOT do anything no matter who invites us where - case in point this past weekend. It was nice to relax and get things done around the house w/only a few items on our agenda.
You won't spend the holidays there will you?
I'm blocking out Oct 23rd and 24th just for me.
(The actual making of this post went like this: Bust out calendar. Type "Oct 9th and 10th". Remember Seamus' birthday party on the 10th. Delete dates. Go to next weekend. Type "Oct 16th and 17th". Remember we are taking T to the pumpkin patch that weekend. Delete dates. Go to next weekend. Type 23rd and 24th. Ahhh...can't think of anything going on that weekend. Success at last.)
I need to finish my dining table and chairs before it starts snowing. I need to clean out my garage so I have somewhere to park my car!
Nope.
Hi all. I think I am going to go to Ulta for some retail therapy.
Besides, I was mistaken for someone 10 years older then me last week. Sigh. . . maybe some new make up and wrinkle cream is in order.
Wop: Glad the trip was good!
D&m: I can totally relate. Every weekend is booked solid and there is so much I need to do.
Welcome back, Wop! We missed you. Glad to hear it was a wonderful trip, though! The thought of palm trees...ahhhh. Gets me itching to go somewhere, too.
I spent the weekend hanging up my ArtPrize project (until 3 a.m. Sunday morning, oh joy) and cleaning. We're going to be out enjoying art for the next two weeks and there'll be no time for chores!
Whop, glad you had a great trip. It makes me look forward to my trip in Feb.
Chymes..Can't wait to see your Art Prize work. I'm getting excited for the start of it. Hopefully I can make it down there more than I did last year. It didn't help that everytime I thought "hey maybe on such and such day, I could make it down there" that it would rain on that date, wihtout fail.
