So several things. I have a wedding the first weekend of October so I went out in search of a new dress
I can't get the picture to show but here is the link http://www.express.com/rouched-mesh-strap-dress-27748-22.pro?Mcat=22&Mcatp=cat_2&Mpos=0&Mppg=0&Mcatn=Dresses&Mcatpn=category&Mpg=SEARCH%2BNAV&Mpper=3&user_att_name=Interest&user_att_value=Email&Mrsaa=*&Mrsavf=*
I tried on this one from Express in a medium which turned out to be skin tight and also a jersey material which made it much cheaper. The length was good on my short self but it wasn't the look I was going for. The associate asked me what I thought of it and told her I was too old to pull it off. She then proceeds to ask if I'm in my late 20s early 30s and encourages me to still wear it. That would be sort of fine but I'm 25.
I then go an find a purse from this collection for 10.00!! It is slightly different from this (smaller with the ruffles centered). I was quite excited for this find.
Towards the end of my trip I head to the clarks store to try on some boots. I of course had let my coupon expire
I find myself quite smitten with these, which of course have a whopping 150.00 price tag. I already had my eye on these from comfort feet shoes.com and knew they were 107 w/free shipping there. The sales associate was a jerk and insulted my co-workers (who were not even in the store at the time), and was quite pushy. I didn't feel too bad about leaving. When I got home I found a coupon and got the boots for $90.00 shipped!
I'm thinking after the boot splurge I may just wear my old faithful brown Ann Taylor dress to the wedding and call it a day. Anyway if you made it through this now you know about my SUPER exciting shopping day
Re: Shopping adventures (a random monologue) w/pips
I really love that dress! I don't think I could pull it off, though...not because I'm too old (almost 32), but because I'd be too self-conscious for something that tight. If you like it, you're definitely too old for it!
Those boots are really awesome, too. I need to get myself some new boots this fall, but I have trouble spending more than $20 or $30 on a pair of shoes for myself!
ETA: I just noticed my typo....I mean to say that you're definitely NOT too old for it!! Yikes! Sorry about that.
