Thanksgiving nightmare

For 2 years in a row, we have gone to his side of the family's for T-day.  One year at his parents (who live in Youngstown) the other year at his sister's (who lives in Cleveland.)  This year, I just wanted to stay home and since my mom is a widow, I thought it would be nice to have dinner at my place.  Me, hubby, the kids, and my mom.

I have since learned to be very careful how I phrase things.  "I'd like to have Thanksgiving here this year and invite mom." turned into dear hubby calling me and letting me know that his parents are really excited to come! ??? And he'll be calling his sister and her family ot invite them as well. !!! And my mom says...Your brother doesn't have plans this year, why don't you invite him as well.  Surprise

My intimate dinner for 6 just turned into hosting dinner for 15.

Shoot me.
