Soup shop review!

Go. Go now. It was good. Really, fantastically, even considering it's opening day, GOOD.

We walked in and the owner was there himself. He told us to, and I quote, "Belly up to the bar and taste your a$$es off." So we did! DH and I each tasted two soups--generous sample portions--before we ordered.

Since the soups are pre-made (and HOT) there was no waiting as they dished up our portions. DH got a salad and I had a bread bowl with mine. There were a few other diners seated already, and a few came and went while we were in there. No wait, no crowding, no grumbling.

There was more seating than when it was the Eel, and what seemed like more lighting. Great menu, good prices, great quality. For two 12oz soups, a small Greek salad, my bread loaf, and two waters, we paid about $13. Better prices and quality than Panera IMO. Not nearly as salty. ;)

We will be regulars; DH is already talking about picking up some soup on the way home from work here and there, and even getting some tomorrow after we're out of town all day. And let me tell you, he is not a "soup as a meal" guy--yet he devoured his sausage-tomato-cabbage (!) soup today and said it filled him.

Big thumbs up from us! Today was (is!) a perfect day to enjoy one of their TWELVE from-scratch soups. Try it! I doubt you'll be disappointed. No takeout menu is available--he said they are trying to save paper--but you can easily find "Uncle Cheetah's Soup Shop" on Facebook.
