Well that sucks...

DH and I have been keeping our fingers crossed that he would hear about getting hired in to his job on a permanent basis.  It was supposed to be a 60 day contract, with a temp-perm possibility.  We assumed the probability of them hiring him was good because he was at something like day 80 with them as of last week.

They let him work all last week, then called him Saturday afternoon to let him know they are not renewing the contract so he didn't need to return.  He could call in today, though, to make arrangements to get his personal effects.  UFB.

No explanation...no nothing.

So we're back to the drawing board and that just sucks with all the holidays right around the corner.

This comes right with the great timing of finding out that my ex husband, since he has no kids living with him anymore, decided he didn't want to actually pay any child support.  So he has now apparently quit his job and up and took off for California.  The kids don't even know where he's at.

Nice.  I'm going home after work today and making a really strong drink.

  • Oh no! Sending some knottie vibes your way! That was horrible of your DH's company to tell him over the phone that they aren't renewing the contract. As for the child support, I sure hope you are going to fight it!

  • Thanks dear.  As for my husband...at least he's in good spirits!  He just called and has jambalaya going in the crockpot for dinner already, and he started to refinish the kitchen cabinets today!  (I may learn to like this!)

Regarding the asswipe: The order still stands that he owes it...but it doesn't mean he's going to pay it.

He already owes me many thousands in arrears dating back from six years ago.  We just assumed they would actually get something from him this time because he was working a job where he got a real paycheck, and they could just garnish his wages.  So he quit.  (I should have figured.)

I just keep in touch with the enforcement agency from time to time.  More than likely, I won't ever get anything from him until he files for Social Security and they take it from him then!!!

  • So sorry to hear about DH's job and your ex situation.  Stay positive and enjoy that DH has the to do things he typically does not have as much time to do.  Knottie vibes that DH finds something soon!
