What's for dinner this week?

So far I've got:

chicken stroganoff

buffalo chicken bites

pulled pork

salsa chicken

I feel like we're really heavy on the chicken here, and I need more ideas...what have you girls got planned?

Re: What's for dinner this week?

  • I picked up a cookbook at Weight Watchers last week called Now and Later.. so first I'm making Beef Burgundy Stew and with the leftovers I'll be making Beef Stroganoff.  I also have a pork roast that I'll make in the slow cooker with saurkraut. And lastly Minestrone soup.

  • Tonight I'm making chicken n' pepper pasta, but I'm not sure what we'll have the rest of the week. We didn't go to the store this weekend because we were so busy, but I want to stretch what we have until we get paid this Friday if possible. I hate having a fridge full of leftovers that don't get eaten, so we're going to be working on that.

Two souls but a single thought; Two hearts that beat as one image
  • Adam made some homemade vegetable soup yesterday in the crock pot so we'll probably have leftovers for dinner tonight.  He wants to do a roast sometime.  Probably some steaks or burgers.... and that's all we've got so far.

  • Whatever doesn't make me want to vom. Ick!

I'm going out to dinner with friends tonight but I'm not sure what the rest of the week will hold in store...it's kind of hard for me to think about food in advance these days - mostly it's a what sounds good today kind of thing.

Although I may make a turkey / white bean chili this week now that it's a little cooler...perhaps a pasta / chicken sausage dish as well.

The Bump ate my signature. DD - Apr 2011 DS - expected June 2013

  • Tonight is Chipotle.  Every Monday in September Chipotle is doing buy one get one free for residents of our apartment complex.  We love Chipotle, so obviously we are taking advantage.  Zero thought has been given to the rest of the week.

  • Matt works late tomorrow night, but I have the day off. I might make a casserole to create leftovers for later in the week, and I'd like to get a crock pot ready to go for Wednesday with chicken noodle and veggie soup.

I always feel so guilty when I see these threads because I usually have spent exactly zero seconds thinking about what we're eating for the rest of the week. Embarrassed

Don't feel bad.  We usually decide what to have the night before, day of, or sometimes minutes before we start cooking.  There is rarely advance planning.

We usually decide that night!!!  Last night, we randomly picked up sandwiches from a deli.  We usually do zero planning.

I like it that way.  How am I supposed to know on Sunday what I feel like eating on Thursday?
