  We got a generic one at Pet Smart for less than $10 and that works awesome. I can't believe how much hair we get out from Ozzie. However we are horrible about brushing him on a daily basis. So it is more to deal with the issue than prevent it or cut back on the shedding.

  We have a generic one and it works wonderful for my shedding dog.  However, I borrowed a friend's Furminator and was shocked how much better the real thing worked.  I'm just bad about brushing the animals in general or I would invest in it myself!

  It works perfectly on my chihuahua with short, silky hair.  It does not work on my chihuahua with extra short, coarse hair.

  I have the original Furminator!  Awesome tool.  You can buy it on Amazon for around $10 right now.  I bought mine off Amazon about a year ago.  I recommend it to all my friends with dogs, and they've all been really happy with it.

  We got ours on sale from Meijer and we love it.  We got the large one for Toby and it works perfectly on his long, coarse hair.  It doesn't work on Gordie because it's too big (he has short, silky fur) but we got a smaller generic one that's similar in style that works well on him.
