Just curious what your thoughts were or experience with it was if you've been. Or what you've heard too...
I casually started looking at some wedding options yesterday (considering the orchard idea...loving the idea of getting married under a pecan tree and doing something rustic and Southern) but also still toying with the beach idea.
Barnsley has some good wedding packages for small parties or just the 2 of us...it looks beautiful and pretty reasonable. Pineola just looks beautiful and exactly what I'm looking for if we went that route.
Obviously, we're in the very beginning stages but if these aren't good places, I want to get them ruled out ASAP so I don't keep thinking about them and can move on to something else!
Thanks!
Re: Anyone been to or familiar with Barnsley Gardens or Pineola Farms?
Are you referring to the Cotton Barn at Pineola Farms?
If so, the rental fee alone is $5000.
Yes. Well then it looks that's out of the question! Wow, I had no idea they were that expensive! They should take some of that money and revamp their website...it's not very good! But the it looks beautiful there!
Yes, it's a beautiful venue, but the price is ridic.
Another good option for a small wedding is the Four Seasons here in Atlanta. They have a nice small terrace for the ceremony (as well as a backup room in case of rain), and they have a beautiful small ballroom that can probably seat about 50-60 comfortably. It has a gorgeous wood beamed ceiling, big fireplace, gold chiavari chairs, high end linens and dishes, as well as a small pre function area with a bar.
Do you, by chance, know the pricing for them? I can call although I'm guessing C won't be very interested in that option. He really likes the beach idea and the orchard idea is something of interest to him as well.
Yes, the pricing ranges anywhere from $40pp to $100pp, depending on full bar, steak and lobster, etc. However, if that's not your thing, then by all means pursue something else.
I love the Barnsley Gardens idea, since it's so beautiful. Also, if you want to have an actual wedding with guests, and you want that rustic feel, google the Reid Barn in Cumming. It doesn't have a website, but you will pull up photos from Mike Moon's website (decent photog by the way), and you can see it. Its' really pretty, and affordable. I believe the rental rate is around $700, and the food is exclusively catered by Tammy's Backstage, I believe the food runs about $28-$35/pp, and they will customize your menu any way you want.
Also, look up Brasstown Valley in Young Harris. They have several venue options, which are gorgeous, and they have a rustic outdoor pavillion you could use for the reception. It's really nice.
Yeah, I saw Brasstown Valley, which looks nice but also seems a bit pricey. I'd have to look into it more though.
Do you know anything about Kellum Valley Farms? Just curious! It came up when I searched for Reid's Barn, which also looks nice but I couldn't find anything under Mike Moon.
I don't know much about Kellum Valley, but I think Mrs.Carroll's sister is having her wedding there, so she can probably answer some questions for you.
There's also a nice plantation down south, that's also really affordable. Let me try and figure out where it is and what the name is and I'll post the info.

None of those are the plantation I was thinking of, I am still looking for that.

We're not actually in Griffin (C just works there) but I'll look into it...thanks for the rec!
Thanks! I love the look of Meadowlark Gardens....so pretty!
I am sure Pineola Farms is still out of the question, but if you need any information about them please PM me!! I just had my wedding there this past May and can NOT give them enough props for everything!!!! Although it was a lot of money (it included everything but food and flowers) it was worth every single cent and guests are still talking about the wedding.
Hate to sound such like a telemarkter or what not, but I would recommended them in a heartbeat. Please let me know if you are looking for any vendors down in this area still. Good luck!!!
Thank you, I appreciate it! While I would love to have a wedding there, I really don't think it's going to fit into what we're looking at financially. This is my 2nd marriage and both of us have decided that we want to do something small and intimate (either with super close family/friends or just the 2 of us). That said, we'd also like to keep our budget down and spending $5K on just the venue alone is more than we'd like to consider for such a small event.
Gotcha! I guess I missed the part about it being your second marriage or just forgot. I wouldn't blame you then about wanting something smaller and more intimate, as well as cheaper. Good luck!
