So, if you remember my work woes and me wondering if I should go to my higher ups, the issue may be resolved. Since we have no boss right now, state office is sending someone a couple times a week to help pick up the slack. Today they sent our regional boss (my boss's boss). He called a meeting with all the attorneys. When I came in, he asked me what all I was doing in the office. He shook his head in discontent the entire time. When I finished, he said all that would be changing. Now let's see how this plays out! But let me tell ya, I'm excited about what will hopefully be real changes!
We have so much time, and so little to do! Strike that, reverse it.

That's great news Leigha. I'm sure it would be hard to hide your grin. Hopefully your job will become more bearable now.
On an unrelated note, were you the one a while back that talked about Ten Dollar Dinners? I've been DVR-ing them and love the show. Haven't made anything yet but love all the ideas she has given me. Thanks for the recommendation, now to just start cooking ; )

This is great news. I'm glad you got confirmation from a high level that the way they were running the office and work load was not to standard. Hopefully this will make the job situation easier to handle.
On a side note, I have never heard of that expression.
mb&d, yes that was me about the ten dollar dinners. Love that show! Great shopping advice as well as inexpensive cooking ideas!
Steph, really? Never? Wiki has it defined as this:
cat that ate the canary
(idiomatic) A person who appears self-satisfied or smug, especially while concealing something mischievous, prohibited, or private.
Pretty darn accurate. I can't really tell everyone in the office what went down at the meeting so it feels a little private, but basically I just can't keep from smiling because I'm so happy I'm getting the result I wanted and needed without having to rock the boat or throw anyone under the bus!
Even though I liked my job up until the conferences, I was also feeling very underutilized as an attorney, which is part of why I hated the conferences. I've spent the bulk of today with the other attorneys finding out what they do and learning what I can do of their work to help. The point of having me in the office is to take some load off of them. Instead I was put into a role taking the load off of caseworkers. What is so funny is that I've been here a year on Friday, and it's taken this long to get things right with the world.

I would feel very frustrated for those exact reasons.
Yeah, never heard of it, although I agree that expression is used perfectly in this instance.
