DADT not repealed.

Re: DADT not repealed.

  • Look morons, you're going to get voted out anyway.  You ought to go down in a blaze of glory instead of pathetic, weeping cowardice, m'kay?

Whatever you do, stay away from comments sections of articles about this.  Especially on the WSJ site.  You'll want to murder someone.

What I think a lot of these old bigots don't get is that the military has changed anyway.  They wouldn't recognize the Lady Gaga lip syncing youth of today as the same military they served in.  I love the "social experiment" argument.  No, a social experiment would be trying to force 19 year olds in 2010 to have the same attitudes and opinions as their fathers.

  • I saw that.  It's effing pathetic.

  • Also, can we change the rules back so that to filibuster, you actually have to hold the floor and read the telephone book for hours so that if the idiot party threatens to filibuster, the dimwit party can say ok, do it.

  • And why are people so afraid of a filibuster to begin with?  How did it become the ultimate threat?

  • When did this rule change?  Had to be less than ten years ago.

If there was a civil war tomorrow, I would sign up to fight.

There  was a NYT ed. about it a while ago.  I believe it was during the 70s.
