Jenth: I'm a passer-outter

I read your pp about the needle phobia and I can completely 100% sympathize with you. I don't have a needle phobia. I am not scared at all of them and swear that you can come over and poke me anytime you want BUT... I get sick and have to lie down everytime I have to give blood or get an injection (which is pretty often with pregnancy and cancer treatments). I laugh about it but there's nothign I can do. The Red Cross doesn't even want me anymore. ::sigh::

I have spoken to healthcare pros about this and it seems it's linked to my fight or flight instinct and it just happens. I laugh about it everytime and let the blood drawer people know that they'll see me after my brief nap. LOL. I dont' want to make light of a person who's actually fearful of it, I just want to share that even if you aren't "afraid" your body can take over and cause a reaction.

I have to say though your fear of needles is better than the girls who have the worst fear of pooping on the table. And there are A LOT of those.

I'm afraid of pooping on the table. Then again, I don't poop in public restrooms (unless I have to go right now diahrea) and won't poop if DH is within ear shot of the bathroom. I will seriously drive 30 minutes home from somewhere in order to poop in the privacy of my own bathroom. Embarrassed Don't hate on those of us with poop phobias Gerrie Stick out tongue

Fellow poo-phobic here. Mine us an actual physical issue. I have to be physically comfortable to go too. I can't go in public even if it is an emergency. My booty shuts down.

  • Haha, you guys crack me up!!!!!

Thanks Gerrie.  I've always had this struggle, since I was in the hospital when I was 4 or 5 and they didn't know what was wrong and did a LOT of tests and stuff. (They were thinking cancer but it turned out in the end to be a virus that had to run it's course- HUGE lump in my neck that grew to grapefruit/softball size.)  I know kids who go through a lot more and are fine so I'm still a bit embarassed how the whole thing affects me to this day.  <sigh>  And I know you dealt with all that but to much larger degree, which had to be so scary!

So there's nothing to do about the passing out?  I guess you always need to lie down then, when you get blood work done or a shot.

My appt went well last night- I'll give a little update in a separate post.

Not hating on you... but yes, I think you are all ridiculous. Stick out tongue

  • Any woman who's had a vaginal delivery and claimed to not have pooped on the table is a big fat liar or has a husband with a REEEALLY good poker face.
