Regarding Obama's SCOTUS votes

Did McCain accuse Obama of not voting for Breyer?  Am I really confused or was Obama still in law school then?

Re: Regarding Obama's SCOTUS votes

  • I think Breyer and Ginsburg were both in the early to mid 90s.  So, Obama certainly was nowhere near the Senate at the time.

  • Clinton appointed Breyer.  I think McCain mispoke and meant Alito.  Obama didn't vote for Alito or Roberts.

  • Yea, I figured.  My SIL actually testified at Robert's confirmation hearing, (she's a fancy pants DC laywer, and my idol!) and as I recall Obama was not involved :)

  • I wondered why Obama didn't protest.  Then I realized that McCain had basically just stated that Obama has been involved in the selection of more SCOTUS judges than he really has, which is in a way giving the impression he has more experience.  Sadly, I don't think the average voter knows shit_ about the SC and will be able to detect the error.
